  One of the best ways to make Agric attractive to the youth is to make it professional and profitable.And to make it profitable will mean the government will have to work closely with us to organize this sector much more effeciently.Agric currently employs 70% of our citizens dirctly in the fields and elsewhere.That means over 70% of our citizens depends on Agric for their income.So why is it not treated as a national security issue?An acre in Ghana produces less than 1/100 as productive as an acre in America.These days there are no excuses for not professionalizing our Agric sector.Availability of affordable mini tractors/Push tractors from China and Brazil means lands can be farmed to great success utilizing cheap technology.With a motor cycle engine we were able to assemble our own mini Tractor at my farm so why can't the government lead the charge in getting Kantanka to build these easy to build,cheap to maintain equipments?

  Take the lead Dr. Bambangi by establishing a couple of models of agricultural modules employing the youth $ paying them well to demonstrate to them how agriculture could benefit them & the whole nation.

  AGRICULTURE CANNOT BE MADE POPULAR TO THE YOUTH UNLESS, THERE IS A COMPLEPTE OVERHAUL OF THE VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION IN THE COUNTRY.

  TEACHING OF FARMING IS INCLUDED IN THEIR AGRICULTURAL TRAINING PROGRAMME, WHERE STUDENTS WITH ÍNTEREEST IN FARMING EMBARK ON AGRICULTURAL COURSES IMMEDIATLY AFTER THEIR BASIC OR SENIOR SCHOOL EDUCATION.
