Why do we have to wait for over 30 years to go into crisis of electrical power to spend money on emergency situations like these while the are abundant of various forms of energy around us to avoid these situations.   I have always said that Ghana can ALWAYS seek a SECOND OPINION from Accounting Firms such as PwC, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young and many others that have tentacles all over the world. Even local Auditors.
  
  For ALL the OBVIOUS REASONS, Ghana is yet to adopt this SIMPLE STRATEGY that ensures Value for Money.
  
  You will soon here one of the THIEVES or a BENEFICIARY telling us about what Kufuor also did for EQUALIZATION. THIS IS VERY SAD INDEED.

  According to Bright the machines will cost $22 million per one. Meaning 10 of them will cost $220million.
  If engineering, site construction, transmission lines, transportation, insurance and putting all other things together at site cost 25% more - that will be $55million more. Cost of capital/borrowing the money at 12% will be $33million.
  Legal and admin fees and Ghana Risks for 5 years at 2% per year is $27million in total.
  Total cost of the Ameri investment is 220+55+33+27= $335million.
  Now, Ghana pays $9.9million for a month meaning $118.8million a year and a total of $398 million discounting the future paymets at 15% per year.
  Hence Ameri invests $335million and makes [398-335] $54 million over the 5 years. A return on investment of 16% and an IRR of 23%. Is this ridiculous? Too high?

He failed to adduce any meaningful cost and benefit analysis and this is plain intellectual dishonesty. Those who signed the contract rightly informed us that Ghana will only pay for the cost power; i.e. tariff. Ameri us solely responsible for the procurement of oil for the generation of power. He comes and put out figures without any basis and we members of delta forces, invincible forces, western crocodiles, bolga bulls, volta rambos all hailing him and swallowing every junk hook, line and sinker. If Bright Simons possessed a fine brain, we should be discussing the first 100 days of Nana Akufo Addo's government. The country is at the cross roads and in dire straights. The country is like a rudder-less ship to the extend that, even Rev Prof Martey had to the NPP not to take the country backwards. The country is being led by the most visionless leader ever to lead Mama Ghana. What's happened to all the 1 district this, 1 district that and 1 constituency $1 million promise? That's what better brains would be discussing but not the rehashing of a stale yesteryear's news.

  Ghana has been the 'whipping boy' for punishing Black Africa with dubious developmental deals for grabbing freedom from the Colonial masters. Unfortunately, such blatant robbery of our Coffers is often done with the willing complicity of some of our own leaders.
  
  This may sound overly nationalistic and appear to overlook the pure evil of corruption by our own leaders who collaborate with the foreign entities to suck the Economic blood out of our countries. But a closer and deeper examination of the underlying facts would support the claim of a deliberate scheme to cheat our Nation in almost every conceivable Economic project that involves some foreign partnership or hired firm.
  
  We could go back on a long list of such projects. The most recent ones include the Kosmos-EO Group Jubilee Oil deal, the Stadiums deal that gave birth to Woyomegate, the Drill Ship deal that constantly reminds us of the refined obfuscation of Account reporting by K. T. Hammond and Co., and now this Ameri deal.
  
  When will all this end for us truly have freedom? Like Nkrumah feared and warned about, we might have been physically free but not economically free from our Colonial, imperial tentacles.
  
  Until our Parliament becomes predominantly filled by true selfless patriots who do not need the approval of foreign entities to feel proud of having achieved something in their lives, we would continue to be victims of this ongoing treachery.
  
  The old 10% Commission of palm-greasing that Krobo Edusei and his minions were reported to have begun in the 60s in negotiating Financial deals for Ghana has metamorphosed into a most refined hydra-headed scheme, all thinly clothed under the fervor of practicing 'Property Owning' Capitalism. This tautological description of our brand of Capitalism is nothing more that just emphasizing the misuse of Capitalism for sheer fraudulent self-enrichment.
  
  It is by no accident, therefore, that our disgruntled Youths are now zealous to be part of Vigilante Groups like the so-called 'Delta Force' and 'Invincible Forces' to push closer to the Halls of Political power and expect hefty financial rewards from it. Our educated Elites believe in seeking financial refuge in Politics now more than ever before because of that phenomenon. The very developed Nations who profess to the whole World as being vibrant law-abiding Economic entities, where no one, and no Company, no matter how highly ranked, could get away with fraud against their own nationals, silently look away or even encourage the full implementation of such dubious deals, so long as the gains mostly flow into their vaults. That's why we saw the U. S. Congress intervene on behalf of Kosmos to have its meat delivered, no matter how badly cut, too close to the bone, when the Mills Administration protested the deal.
  
  Where was the integrity of the French Government when the Societe General was skimming us with the help of the dirty Hammonds with our Drill Ship? Where was the Austrian Government when Woyome was conniving with that Austrian Company to milk us of some GHC 51 Million? And where was the Turkish Government when this Ameri Deal was bouncing around in its jurisdiction?
  
  The lesson that the rest of Ghanaians outside Politics must learn is that no one foreign entity would really care for our own well-being better than ourselves. And we must all wake up to take our idiotic, kleptocrats to task, and make their lives a living daily Hell if they keep leading us into such deep ends of corruption. Enough is enough!! These Politicians cannot keep their own hands clean on our projects, and so feel morally incompetent to curb the naked raping of our Land with Galamsey, etc.
