Does this story make sense to you ?..No one does what hes talking about, and if you know our airspace and where that aircraft was coming from that day, you can put the pieces together and not what that pastor is talking about. Lets not just comment on here fo commenting sake. We as aviators from this end of the world know what we are about..WE ARE PROUD OF WHAT WE DO EVERYDAY..risking our lives on an hourly basis...just for families to be able to see their loved ones across bounderies

D Meteo Services put out the news of the impending storms across d country on Friday. The pilot should have known about d storms before the airliner took off. Accra is only 25 - 30 minutes away.

we have our own way of getting weather, u wont understand ...u need an aviator to explain to you how we fly and interpret weather, and not necessarily what meteo gives out.

I saw a lawyer also praying : how did you know he's a lawyer? So, the pilot didn't check the weather in kumasi before taking off? I think before KLM leaves Amsterdam to Accra, the pilot can tell the weather there.

Recently, I was traveling from Montreal to Philly but the flight was delayed for an hour before the rain was pouring over there. Fake news.

We've heard from the passengers and we need to also hear from the captain of the flight.Sometimes the press exagerate these stories.Weather was bad that i agree but for the pilot to have lost his way,hmmm i don't believe it.When an aircraft can't land at destination it diverts to a suitable alternate aerodrome and this is really strange.In short lets hear from the crew and then we can analyse and conclude.

Assuming Kumasi Airport was not renovated, it would have been a tragedy. That is why we should not put all our eggs in one basket. Every government want to locate every thing in Accra,it is a wake up call for the nation.

I went through a similar experience in February this year when flying from Kumasi to Accra . Mid air, the pilot announced that there was a problem with the engine. I was shaken to the core when the announcement was made.
We had to make a U- turn to Kumasi and thank God we landed safely.
I made a promise not to fly locally again.

Really interesting and funny news. Very poor journalism and this shows how pple are just ignorant about aviation but they act as if they know it all.
1) pilots are briefed on weather enroute their destination and every aircraft and flyer has a minimum level of visibility below which they are not allowed to land. But weather can change within a very short time. So wot actually happens is wen they approach the airport they fly low and see if they can land.

2) every flight has alternate airport they will fly to if they are not able to land at their destination. I guess the Pastor is just ignorant and wants to take the glory that as he took control of the atmosphere then things were OK. This is not the first time flights are diverted if they are not able to land. It happens all the time in aviation. Especially in the harmattan season, flyers will testify that most of the flights return because they couldn't land especially flights to tamale. The interesting thing is wen passengers are told that the flight will be delayed or cancelled because of weather they don't accept it, they want to u to take them at all cost.
3. The pastor said the pilot announced that he lost control? He should ask God for forgiveness for lying. because it's a big lie and a shame. No pilot in the world will ever announce to passengers after saving the day that he lost control. Does he know that every thing the pilots say are recorded and can't be deleted? Dat is used for investigation. How can they be looking for a place to land in Aflao wen there is no runway there?
4)Saying they veered off course is just ridiculous? Does he know the route to Accra from Kumasi in the air to know they have veered off course?
5) they were in the air for one and half hours? The question to ask him is wot were they doing there. One and half hours is even the duration of going to Kumasi- Accra, accra- Kumasi and Kumasi -to accra. How can they be in the air for a duration that will take 3 flights. It takes about 30 minutes to accra from Kumasi meaning they were lost for one hour?
This is a shame and dent the image of a business just because of negative journalism and ignorance of some people who think they know

The storm was a bad one and any aircraft caught in it would have taken a beating for sure. There is however no excuse for sensationalism and very bad journalism fuelled by exaggeration and lies. If the pilot had lost control of the aircraft, how could he have made it to the cabin to tell anybody that anyway? The pilot was not flying a horse drawn cart, how could anyone in their right mind say he was flying about looking for a place to land? There is a reason why planes land at airports and not just anywhere the pilot can find. A good dose of common sense and rational thinking always helps in every case. Such unrealistic accounts only take away the importance and significance of such an occurrence and leaves it open to ridicule and mockery.
