  What exactly is the difference between the two? Because, personally small scale mining or galamsey, they both the same. They are both destroying our farm lands, water bodies and forest reserves.

  Bravo! Okyehene. You're right there as there is no difference in galamsey and small scale mining. No distinction in their operation whatsoever. The menace of mining in Ghana is mainly from the so called small scale mining which is being interchanged for galamsey. One who comes from an area where these activities go on such as my Hometown, Dunkwa - on - Offin will attest to the fact that the original galamsey is just minute activity compared to the current small scale mining which is no more small as claimed, especially with all these Chinese with excavators involved.
  I suggest, and making a paper even available to HE the President to revoc all small scale mining licences under article 87 of the minerals and mining act, 2006 till further notice.
  The miners who claim to have had licence should tell Ghanaians about their mining method and one EPA/Mincom conditions that have been complied over a decade and over now.
  Wish these miners well of their exit from our ecosystem.

Instead you rather chose to be offended by the problem he pointed at and made him the object of your hate. Now you arrogant chief has a much bigger problem today to fight than it was at the time. The destruction done it massive and irreversible thanks to your bigotry.

How can you sit down as a leader and allows illegal mining to destroy the environment to that extent? and it is only a fool that will allow that to happen. I couldn’t believe what I saw on the internet concerning the destruction the illegal mining has caused to environment; and it makes me wondering if our leaders have brain in their skull.
