Schalke are seeking talks with Chelsea over a new deal for crocked Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman.
Fussball Transfer are reporting the German outfit want to extend the loan deal for the Ghana international.
Rahman, 22, joined Schalke on a season long loan from the English giants.
But the African has been ruled out of the remainder of the season after he picked up a knee injury while on international duty at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana.
According to reports, there's no permanent option nor price set in Baba's loan, meaning Schalke chief Christian Heidel will have to start from scratch with Chelsea.
"If it is somehow possible, we would like to keep him. I do not think it's impossible for him to play for the season for Schalke. Of course, his home club Chelsea plays the decisive role," said Heidel.
