  Good job, and good police work. The question is, to what extent can Ghanaians tolerate armed robbery? I think our political leaders and civil society, need to find answers to this canker, like they are about to do to GALAMSEY. One of the simple solutions, prior to addressing the issue will be to activate the executions of all armed robbers languishing in our prisons on death roll. This will send a quick message of deterrence to them. The state must act now to end this canker. Armed robbery is become a culture of impunity in Ghana, once a beloved peaceful nation.

We must learn from America and Mexico, guns in civilian hands will ALWAYS result in somebody being killed with it!!! No civilian must be allowed to own guns, regardless of who they are. Only law enforcement agents must be allowed to carry guns and deal ruthlessly with trouble makers of society. Please, please, please ban guns in Ghana!!!!

  These recent spate of armed robbery in the country is the work of the NDC. In the run up to the 2016 elections, the ruling NDC distributed a lot of assault rifles to be used against the opposition NPP adherents when the ndc were cock sure of rigging the 2016 elections, expecting the NPP to rise up in protest nationwide.The ruling ndc planned to use brutal force to silence any opposition aggitation after the EC had declared the results in favour of the ndc. Indeed,it was in the course of distributing the weapons and ammunition that a grenade dropped behind the residence of one of the ndc functionaries. The investigation was skewed in favour of the ruling ndc government. Greater number of the weapons distributed by the then ruling ndc landed in the Ashanti region where the ruling ndc entertained the idea that the npp regional chairman was in cohort with some armed groups from Cote d'Ivoire to distabilize the country. The npp regional chairman was number one target of the ndc.
  The ndc supporters in the Ashanti region were armed to the teeth during the 2016 elections, and some are now using the weapons to do armed robbery.
  The Ashanti region police command must intensify police patrols and flush out this organized crime by the ndc supporters. The police must also up their intelligence gathering capabilities to identify and locate the ndc arm catches across the country.
