The very people who shouted at Wayome and corruption are the very people who are in acts of corruption even within 3 months in office. Where is Ghana heading to?

Bonds raised to shore up cedi was bad? What about now?
November, 2014.
STATEMENT: “Where’s The $1bn Sovereign Bond?” Bawumia Asks Gov’t
"Dr Bawumia believes the $1 billion raised on the money market has been used to do nothing more than to artificially shore up the cedi from depreciating against major currencies.
He further disclosed how the government of the National Democratic Congress has used Ghana’s limited foreign exchange not to invest in productive projects but to merely stop the local currency from sliding."
April, 2017
No matter the possible conflict of interest and family benefits, the bonds have been used to stabilise the cedi you Ignorant minority (Ghanaians).
Me; Indeed we are ignorant, cos for years you fooled us and got rewarded.

Ken Ofori Atta is not suited for finance. He has a wall street mindset. That mindset is not good for third world development. Our politicians are all crooks. NDC or NPP -- make your pick.

If it was other political parties that watch dog institutions like IMANI and centre for democracy and corrupt fighting institutions either than corrupt NDC that is criticizing government on the bond without parliamentary approval the is no question about that, but these are NDC thieves and criminals should tell Ghanaians all their bonds that they raise and secure were all debated and approved in parliament for specific projects and it locations.I would love it goes though parliament and tax payers who are paying interest sees what their bond provide them.I hate when NDC talks without making reference to what they did to justify their criticism.

And as for the party followers who come here to insult people without really looking beyond the parties and cake cutting of our president.
Let me make it simple for you- it will only be downhill from here.
what they are doing is robbing peter to pay paul whiles enriching themselves.
Until we use our brains to question and question politicians again, what they really mean when they are begging for the votes. we will forever be doomed.
100 days of achievements indeed, and they call themselves educated bunch, crooks more like it.

The explanation the minister gave is clear but the opposition refuse to hear or not listening and they refuse to read it well.If they don't understand it as the minister they him to parliament to answer questions.Opposition wants to cause mischief but it will get any where.I always say that the truth is the winner at end.If the opposition don't understand anything about the bond they should send it to parliament for clearification and stop making unnecessary comments.if they know how to manage the economy they wouldn't have voted out. They should stop making unnecessary noise because they were booted out just three months ago.

There is almost a 100% placing to a lender who is a foreigner. The investors has connections with various NPP Ministers. It is in the interest of all that these relationships are demonstrated very publicly not to have been influenced any of the decisions by the Finance Minister.
The NPP last administration has a record of favouring its cronies. A typical example was the Ghana International Airlines. There is no harm in the public being alerted to the fact that this can happen again with a new NPP administration but in another form
The only way to assure everyone that all is above board is to go to Parliamemt. It is a very large loan.

we are discussing a lot of money over a fifteen year period. It is along term liability. The minority party has taken the trouble to detail how the investor is connected to the Minister of Finance. It is up to us and the public and other stakeholders to judge whether there is really a conflict of interest.
Dr Osei Akoto cannot dismiss the issues that have been raised as trivial.
When the NDC was in power, Seth Terkper was not a shareholder in any of the ventures that hhad been employed for borrowing so Dr. Osei Akoto cannot use that borrowing approach to whittle away the concerns been brought to the attention of the public here.mentioned that he has borrowed from
It should have been obvious to the NPP Ministers that once some of their Ministers have interests in some of the companies that The Minister of Finance is dealing with, it is the interest of all that these interests are disclosed. The best way to disclose these is to place the agreements before parliament so that they are scrutinized

Any bond that takes long to mature comes with comparative higher coupon rate due to associated long term risk (after who can see the future?).
Please answer the questions:
Did you sell the bond at par? i.e. the DCF of the coupons plus the principal must equal the value of the bond.
Did you sell the bond at discount? coupon rate is equal to YTM.
Prove us wrong, you sold the bond at premium. coupon rate is higher than YTM.
Since you sold the bond at a premium, how much higher than the federal discount rate?
This is really bad, others would assume corruption.
