Apart from Charlotte Osei and those NDC leaders, everyone knew they had lost. The reasons why you lost are clear and simple: incompetence, arrogance, corruption. If he has already sold the items he should pay the monies accrued to the state or go to jail.

When Kufuor took over power NPP went on a rampage to victimize their political opponents. They quickly set up their fast track court and unjustly jailed and destroyed the businesses of prominent NDC people including Kwame Preprah, Selormey, Tsikata et all. President Mills refused to go down that ugly road. Now Agyapong influenced Akufo regime is going down same ugly road as Kufuor. Added to this they have all this vigilante group killing, beating, and confiscating people's property without any credible basis. What happened to the rule of law in a democratic government?

Now we read the finance minister has floated some bonds that will be beneficial to his private business. This is ostensibly to pay back to him all the money he loaned to NPP for Akufo's 3 presidential campaigns. What a mess.

We are witnessing the beginning of a massive institutionalized corruption compounded by political victimization. Stay tuned

2. He then issued 44 post dated cheques to cover the whole amount.
3. How many of the said 44 cheques bounced? We are not told.
4. How many went through ? We don't know
5. What are the basis for all these insults? Do we know the number of companies whose cheques have become dub because of government inability to pay them on time for them also to retire their postdated cheques?
At least give the guy and the institution to sort out the issues and then we can judge.

I'M YET TO BE TOLD WHEN CHEQUES WERE ACCEPTED AS MODE OF PAYMENT AND MORE SO POST-DATED CHEQUES. LET IBRAHIM AND UNCLE SHOW US RECORDS OF SUCH P/DATED E&P HAD COLLECTED FROM HIS DEBTORS DATED TWO OR SO YEARS AHEAD.

Do banks keep dupe cheque?
A person gives an advance cheque to another in anticipation that his bank will receive money that a customer or a person who owes him will pay.
When the payee does not have any money in his bank accounts the cheque is returned to him and the one who receives the cheque which is now dupe because there is no money to cover it to the one who issued it.
Now the one who issued to cheque will make sure that his debtor has really paid the amount he owns him into the bank.
One can't detain a dupe cheque because it will be assumed that you are paid double for the same amount if another cheque is issued and there is money to cover it.
Since one can not keep something that does not have value when he valuable one has been paid, thus and organization or bank can not keep a dupe cheque when it has been paid with a cheque with a value later.

What is a post dated check? A check with a future date to cash. Usually, 90 days to cash it. What we're talking about are DUD checks. BOUNCED checks! Nyaho is very disgraceful!

Nyaho Tamakloe is wrong and wrong and wrong. In the first place Ghana harbor authority does not accept personal checks as payments of import duties at the ports; they only accept bank drafts and certified checks from banks. Secondly it was wrong for the port authorities to accept the personal checks from Ibrahim. Thirdly although it may be right for businessmen to issue post-dated checks which is due on the date stipulated on the checks; but if the checks are presented to the issuing banks at the dates on the checks and they bounces, it becomes a dug check and that is an offence. Is Tamakloe saying, Ibrahim did not know he did not have money in those accounts the money was supposed to be drawn? Or he thought he could get away without paying those duties? Knowing that those checks were bounced I am sure the ports authorities might have contacted him about the bounced checks. If so why is it that Ibrahim did not issue other checks to clear them? We are told the checks were 44 in all which is quite unbelievable. How did the authorities accept as many as 44 checks and they all kept bouncing and nothing was done about it? Is it because he is the brother of the former President? With this, Nyaho, there is no witch hunting in this. Let us call a spade as spade and what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. As long as he has issued dug checks it is an offence and he should prosecuted in addition to the payment of the amount he owes at the port with interests. The law should be allowed to take its course.
