Shame on us as people. very soon conflicts may be envisaged by these action of Nana (he does not know that by doing that makes certain people in the country feel superior over others or vice versa and this will potential give birth to pseudo-conflicts in the near future).

Very very stupid idea and we will pay the cost in the near future. Mark my words...

Mr Taylor, Ashanti Region is the only homogeneous region in the country, with one and only overload - the occupant of the Golden Stool, hence indivisible. That thought (partitioning) shouldn't even come to mind.

Don't overlook the fact that Ahafo was part of the Ashanti Region. It was split from Ashanti by President Nkrumah in order to weaken the Asante Kingdom. The strategy didn't work though, because most Ahafo paramount chiefs still owe allegiance to the Golden Stool, and Ahafo is predominantly inhabited by Asantes. So you see, Ashanti has previously gone through the splitting process. Besides there isn't a strong argument for dividing Ashanti Region; the only region named after an ethnic group, because of its near homogeneity.

So what will you say of the division of western region (into current western and central)?

The demographics was in such a way that (getting closer to independence), the ashantis including the akyems were in a strong opposition to independence. So Nkrumah, for administrative purpose (and in a consensus agreement) formed the new region to achieve the national integration of ghanaians (that was one of his visions) - Thank God there's peace in Ghana done amongst our neighbors...

I think what Kennedy Agyapon should fight for is also the Assin to separated from the fantis. Look at all the 3 district voted for NPP not even 1 deputy comes from this district.

It will run out one day and when it does we will have nothing to show for it. Why not use the money to build huge factories and businesses for the jobless to be employed. Annual Profts made from the factories can be used to prop up education. Chaps of rich parents will enjoy free education and they will end up in Europe and US becose there are no jobs. The less privileged kids will have free education and remain in the country without jobs. One district one factory will grossly be inadequate to accomodate the thousands of school leavers the system churns out every year.

Fellow right minded Ghanaians,when the NDC and his excellency form President John Dramani Mahama was busy building unprecedented roads, schools, hospitals, market centres,expansion of intake of students nurses and teachers,providing water to both rural and urban communities,extension of rural and urban electrification etc,etc.The NPP and the then flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo now the President kept saying that all the infrastuctural development carried out by the NDC government at that time was not of importance to ordinary Ghanain.But that what Ghanaians and non Ghanaians alike wanted was improvement in their lives.The question is ,how can government improve the lives of it's citizens without the above itemized developmental projects?.Fine,since all those infrastructural project were not important to the ordinary citizen as said by the N P P,what are does the NPP intend to do differently without infrastructure that will improve the living condition of ordinary citizen? So how does the creation of boundaries around a region improves the lives of Ghanaians?,shameless ,afterthought people.
