  Yh.. but that's Canada.. at least they are some measures that won't allow floods there ..but in Accra here.. little rain.. big flood

  And who really cares???? How much has the so called NADMO spent the last 9yrs trying to correct the drainage system in accra???? But failing to properly plan n implement the solution gives u another flood.

  So why are they tell us?we have been facing the same problems for the past ten years all they can do is to report the casualties n damages. Sometimes it pain me after 60yrs of freedom we never learn as a nation

  When these flooding starts, then we start the blame game with no-one accepting responsibility. We are all the cause of these flooding. Imagine the man who drinks sachet water - he drops it anywhere, the rubbish, dumps it in the gutter, any filth, leaves it anywhere. Then the rain comes and we are blaming someone. Let's change our attitude and be more responsible.

  That is most likely what we should expect n this trend will never cease till the authorities n we as a people begin to act n behave responsibly by doing the right thing.
  and what is this right thing : first and foremost a number of roads projects are never really completed in the real sense and that is a lot the ancillary drainage works are never well done or completed fully by contractors who care little about the finishing of their projects and so they carelessly look on during the period of construction for considerable earth n soil to enter the uncompleted drains n so before the projects are completed a lot of earth n litter may have collected inside the drains. besides out joining lands to homes n offices should all have been made concrete or with pavement blocks to prevent direct soil n earth from these places been washed directly into the drains during rains but this is never the situation so gradually rain after rain raw earth or soil n garbage from these adjoining homes, offices or plots are continually washed into these drains n fill them.
  secondly road shoulders are not regularly swept n kept tidy from garbages generated from the irresponsible n reckless habit of all of us. and here, i need reemphasized that oue continuing use of moral suasion n appeals will never ever ne effective except we employ punitive sanctions ..and so these garbage easily lodge into the drains choke it and the result is these constant flooding..
  Now, since these flooding always leads to the destruction or lives n property n by our laws anyone who destroys a life or property is termed a criminal and so by this reasoning i wish to propose to the authorities as it acknowledge n done in most advance societies that any action by any person or group of persons to litter the environment by any form liquid or solid waste must seen as a serious criminal act, not a misdemeanor n must be seriously punished by way of a heavy fine, custodial sentence or made to clean the the neighbourhood where the offence was committed for at least a minimum of two weeks....

  Accra rain are not directly from Greater Accra but the floods comes mostly Nkwakwa, Nsawam,Aburi Mountains,Akropong and its environs,
