Libya under Gaddafi's leadership was almost heavenly. I lived in their second capital (Benghazi) for two years in the 1980s. Gaddafi was a brutal dictator, but beyond that he proved to be a very good leader for his people. He built arguable the best country in Africa, with a standard of living that rivals that of Europe. The country had some of the best infrastructure on the continent. Every Libyan had total free education and free health care.

I had a Libyan friend (black Libyan) who was a librarian at the Garunis University in Benghazi. This guy took me to the campus one day. The campus was breath taking and magnificent to behold. There is not a single university in Ghana that comes any close in beauty and infrastructure /facilities. Over half of the students owe vehicle and drive to school. Income levels for Libyans were comparable to that of Europe. And beyond all that the country was extremely peaceful, which was ironic - in that Gaddafi promoted and supported trouble elsewhere but clearly not in Libyan itself.

It is unfortunate that the west by their action and inactions have destroyed one of the well-run African countries. What a shame.

Arabs and their authoritarian Islamic religion are cannibals and have no regard or respect for the black race.
Gaddafi like or dictators was only pretending that's why we have to stop moaning,adjust our mindset,our way of doing things and start doing what is right to change the fortunes of our country to make the conditions here conducive and attractive.
For how long can we complain?The countries we consider attractive to make us run to for greener pastures were made so by citizens of those countries who are human beings like us so why can't we do so for our country?

They have been eventually signed on contract to work for two good years. From my little probe on conversation, their agents are in the middle east. They were contracted through some 'staff members' at the airport who have travelled to these villages to recruit them. I pitied then greatly listening to them and the zeal they have going on being aware of the imminent danger that may be awaiting them. I am asking through this media comment for the government to put a ban or stop anyone travelling to such places. I wish this happens!
