That is the law here in the U.K.If you invite someone to the U.K. , you are responsible for his/Her return. In this case the MP has broken the U.K. Immigration law and deserves the punishment imposed on him. The lawyer should stop wasting his time.

When they fraudulently charge people to acquire visa for them, the folks are the ones making the revelations here in the States and elsewhere. I can vouch that the NDC and their cohorts abused this with big delegations ostensibly attending conferences, etc. We are witness to this here in the States, so let this nonsense stop.

It's ridiculous for him to claim that he was in the dark as to his daughter's intentions. This guy and the other three are perfect examples of the moral and ethical bankruptcy of Ghana's politicians.And they wonder why people have no faith in them.

I am not sure this lawyer representing Mr. Boakye can argue for any of his clients to win a case. His argument in this case is so feeble and contains no legal substance. Probably he did not study the matter very well but just came out to defend Mr. Boakye for just the sake of saying something to defend him. Or just because he is a lawyer he thinks his argument will be accepted? The High Commissioner said all the facts. Mr. Boakye applied for himself, his wife and daughter. Didn't Mr. Boakye at that time realise that his daughter was at the time of the visa application an adult? Why did he then indicate that he would be travelling with him? Lawyers are also counselors, so this lawyer has to learn better by sitting down with Mr. Boakye and make it clear to him that he deceived the British High Commission and so should keep quiet and accept his punishment. This is only a chip of the ice block. This revelation from the High Commission will spread wider soon to cover especially our chiefs who travel with a huge entourage but return with a handful of servants. There have been rumours for decades when news spread about people turning agents to collect over 1000 Dollars from would-be travellers to join such large entourage. When they are at their destination, their passports with the visa are collected to be shown at the embassies as a proof that these people have returned. The high Commissioner is an intelligent man. He knows all these tricks but has been quiet. But this time around he will say all these. So corrupt chiefs, be ready.
