  Very good analysis of the current situation of over emphasis on doctorate degrees to the detriment of experience and competence. There are master's degree holders with over 15years teaching experience in the university but have been pushed and given timelines to complete their PhDs or leave the service of the university for fresh PhD holders without experience to come in. Even in advance countries like US and Germany there are instances where people without even master's degrees are allowed to teach in the university bcos of their extra ordinary experience and competence. We have had the likes of former president Obama, wole soyinka and chinua achebe teaching in the university for years without PhD but their experience and competences are unparalleled.

  It's a pity we celebrate fake credentials. What does she profess? Not even a single publication in a scopus or SSCI journal is associated with this Prof., save paid predatory journals. If you have a weak training from unaccredited SMC and pay US $15000 for a Central Nicaragua doctorate, this is the outcome. She should put her CV and publications online so that it can be juxtaposed with other Professors elsewhere. For instance, an Associate Prof. at the University of Ghana should have published an average of 22 non-predatory journals in addition to book chapters aong others. What is the standard at the USA? If you produce fake scholars, google scholar, researchgate among others will undermine your academic reputation. Anyway, congratulations.

  Prof, I wish you all the best. Yes, as you said, NAB and NCTE must do more but I think the problem there is lack of experts in education to do the job there. I do not think we need politics there but Civil Servants who have been trained to do that job and some few academics from our Universities work there to promote the four dimensions of quality of higher education. Your Inaugural lecture is timely especially on governments attempt to discourage the IGF drive by our Universities. God Bless Ghana.
