Taxi business must adopt to the new world of technology or will be extinct. In few years to come, there will be driver-less taxis. Uber drivers are independent contractors, and their income is taxable, creating employment for many car owners either part or full time. Uber as a corporate entity, pays corporate tax.

This has always been how violent and foolish GPRTU members have always behaved.the monster thinks its business is threatened and therefore will intimidate. Ghanaians should not allow the union to keep taking people for a ride. Authorities should allow uber to be. They 're the perfect answer to GPRTU. Same should happen in the trotro arena as well.

The new technology is rocking the boat in all angles and if you do not innovate you will die whilst others will boom.

Uber can operate but must conform to all commercial vehicle regulations and taxes as the traditional taxis. Taxi operators should rise up and stop Uber.

UBER Car Service, a clear monopolistic
aggression. It is a MULTI-BILLION Organization.
If it allows to function in Ghana Local Car
Service Industry will vanish, leaving OUR
LOCAL Car Drivers unemployed. We have not
the stage to allow this NEW INDUSTRY to
function, because it is not like setting up
industries like factories for manufacturing
GOODS. Most of their cars are BRAND
NEW ONES, which passengers will not
PATRONIZE LOCAL DRIVERS with OLD and
DILAPIDATED CARS spewing fumes along.
Please protect our LOCAL TAXI DRIVERS
IT IS A MONOPOLISTIC AND AGGRESSIVE
ACTION. NEW YORK CAB DRIVERS FOUGHT
THEM, BUT since MIGHTY PEOPLE ARE BEHIND they could win their fight.
GHANA HAS NOT REACHED THIS PHENOMENON,
and so Please save the LOCAL CAB SERVICE.
