And with that so fresh in the mind of Ghanaians, I strongly doubt that he stands any chance to return to the Presidency, even if Akufo-Addo fails to deliver as he promised.

Ghana has many more dynamic, more patriotic, more honest and dedicated individuals who are poised to displace the generation of dubiously stained, old and stale politicians, and whom we can look forward to their busting in on the political scene soon.

The government should force the Bank of Ghana to reduce the interest rate with immediate effect. This Shylock interest rate should be eliminated with immediate effect. Ghanaian businessmen and women have suffered long enough from this unbearable interest rate. Give us a break!! The bankers have linked up with the politicians to ensure that this huge interest rate never goes away while other African countries have significantly lower interest rates. Shame on you NPP and NDC politicians for allowing this interest rate to remain. I hope one day companies and the TUC will launch a coordinated campaign against this interest rate that virtually kills businesses. Together as Ghanaians whether NDC or NPP, male or female, young or old; lets fight this lethal interest rate until the politicians and bankers reduce it to an acceptable level.

2ND DAY OF THE CHIEF DIRECTORS OF RCCs AND DIRECTORS OF OHLGS RETREAT
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kumasi –May 4, 2017: Day two of the ongoing retreat for Chief Directors of the Regional Coordinating Councils and Directors of the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service witnessed a number of presentations and retrospections. Chief Directors of the ten (10) RCCs took turns to make presentations highlighting progress, major successes chalked and challenges affecting their respective Regions.

Issues of chieftaincy disputes, inadequate funding, illegal mining (galamsey), boundary disputes and harassment from Fulani herdsmen were some major challenges outlined. These challenges notwithstanding, the regions were relatively peaceful with some RCCs reporting improvement in revenue IGF mobilization by their MMDAs as well as certain living standard indicators. The head of the Public Affairs Unit of the OHLGS also made an in-depth presentation on the LGS Communication Strategy developed to guide communication in the Service.

The Head of Service (HoS), Dr. Nana Ato Arthur had the opportunity to share his vision encapsulated into six thematic areas to the Chief Directors of the RCCs explaining in detail how he intends executing them. These are:
1. Transparency and accountability in the management of RCCs and MMDAs
2. Strategic positing of RCCs and MMDAs for the One-District-One-Factory Project
3. Sharing of best practices
4. Use of workable ICT to enhance revenue mobilization
5. Preparation of the Service for the election of MMDCEs
6. Capacity building of MMDAs and their sub-district structures

He called on the directors to give him the maximum support and trust to realize his vision.
