  Those of us who have visited the Tamale airport in the 70's saw the equipment ordered by Kwame Nkrumah to create and expand the Tamale airport. It has taken us over 50 years to catch this great man's vision and implement the construction of an international airport at Tamale. The guy was a visionary. Thank you Mahatma for implementing this great man's vision. Better times ahead for the North of Gh. And Gh as whole!

  Madam Minister, when will Kumasi get a truly international airport? The previous government planned a small expansion including extending the runway from 1,900 to 2,500 meters. This will still make Kumasi Airport a small internal airport because the large aircraft that is used for inter-continental travel such as the Boeing 747 needs a runway of at least 3,000 meters. Everybody knows that Kumasi should have an international airport because in purely economical terms it will be financially viable. Kumasi airport has over 480,000 passengers a year from internal flights and a survey showed that on inter-continental flights such as London to Accra and New York to Accra, 65% of the passengers are from Kumasi or a place closer to Kumasi that Accra. Yet the politicians ignore the need for an international airport in our city. We need an international airport in Kumasi.

  When will Sunyani get a new airport as you already knows, almost two years now there hasn't been any flight to Sunyani. I know you were there not long ago contemplating building a new one. A new one must be built to open up the region for businesses and tourism in the region. Don't waist money on the old one, it will be of no use, no land to extend the runway and the structures there as a matter of fact don't befit to be called a regional airport at this 21st century. Building a brand new airport is a must. The land is there at Nsotre awaiting for the project to take off, is long over due. We know of this land demarcation for the airport since President Nkrumah's time and noting has been done ever since. What are we waiting for? Build it now the time is up.

  Every Region in Ghana should have had an airport by now. Traveling by road for long extended hours is just too excruciating to deal with sometimes

  When Mahama was building airports in the regions our brothets were angry saying no be airport we go chop. Today our own brothers are continuing the construction of airports. Eeiii Ghana.
