Based on my assessment of the institutions I deal with, the most corrupt is the judiciary, followed by Ghana Education Service, Police Service, Ministries, Passport Office before politicians.

The pervasive corruption we experience daily in Ghana only compares to those in failed states like Somalia, Afghanistan, Burundi, Iraq etc. We are a doomed nation! We are going nowhere!

Every public sector is headed by a politician, why cant they enforce the rules and the laws. Yes they will not get what they want so they will leave the institution's they way they are and other will use the loopholes.

All GH people can be corrupted because our mind set can be "me nya no a me y3 no" so we take that bad mentality into politics and we mess everything up.

IT CANNOT BE COMPLETELY ERADICATED, BUT I PRAY THE CURRENT PRESIDENT WILL BE ABLE TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE IT, AT LEAST WITHIN THE CIVIL SERVICE.

Corruption is everywhere, Hospitals, GES, Electricity Dept, Rent Control, Immigration, Airport and a whole lot of companies. Meanwhile, the money collected go to individual,s pockets. It's going to be a challenge, if you want to fight the disease called Corruption, but don't give up.

What you have said is true. But in Ghana the policians have the power to stop the corruption. If they decide to stop corruption today they can do it. So we have to hold them responsible for all the corruption in Ghana

I use to say this all the time. When we are dealing with corruption as a nation, to me it is not a matter of singling out a particular group or a section of the populace. It doesn't work that way. The reason is that the entire society is corrupt to the extent that even the clergy who are supposed to lead the crusade on corruption are also found in the bandwagon of corruption. Before the politicians find themselves at the top of national affairs, they are already corrupt. The fact is that it is these same corrupt citizens who move from a level to higher levels. The politician may have been a head of educational institution, a director , a civil servant ..etc who is already submerged under the sea of corruption. How do you expect such a person to change because of his new role as a politician? The fight must start from the primary schools where the little ones would be instilled with discipline and the need to extricate ourselves from corrupt practices. Teach the child good morals and when they grow they wont depart from it. The entire society must be educated about the dangers of corruption. 21If Jesus Christ, together with seasoned archangels transport themselves to Ghana to form a government, I don't think there is going to be any change if we still remain where we are and feel comfortable with it.

Corruption in public places is becoming normal as bribe givers re not ready to suffer delays in the hands of public servants paid monthly to carry out the services they render to the public,it's unthinkable how the deliberately unduely delay people who can to afford to pay bribes.most of the methods to render this services continue to be long promoting bribes taking,we must shorten the processes and put cctv cameras and employ people to monitor activities of this service providers,the public must be educated on this things because if the reforms re not well communicated they ll continue to take bribes.Another area is customs both at the airport and sea ports,costom officer must not be allowed to use their discretional powers to determine duties,with regards to vehicles it should be categorized by their engine sizes and model and the duties on them publish for importers to know how much in involve that ll cut down the corruption there,again the duty should not be tigh to the exchange rates because it puts pressure on the cedis because if that continues then importers re forced to buy dollars as soon as they sell thereby putting pressure on the cedis to depreciate always,prices of goods overseas remains the same all year through whereas prices change here in our local markets because of exchange rates,so whatever money government makes from importers at the port comes to square one,instead government should set up date like 6 months to review duties upwards or downwards depending on the trends in the market,if the currency becomes stable nobody ll rash to buy dollars.Goverment should also monitor the activities of foreigners engaging in exchange business,as poor as they appear,this people travel on motorbikes with thousands of dollars on them,you just don't ve an idea how much money this people can mobilize and put together before darkness falls,some bank managers give them dollars to sell at the black market because banking rates re always down,The private sector must not be left out in the fight against corruption,look engage a mason or carpenter and you re in for trouble if no one is there to monitor,in fact including mechanics,painters,fuel station attendants and haukers on our streets,journalists and teachers alike so we ve a long way to go,if we don't stamp out trade imbalances there's no way we can move forward as a nation.
