The Principal of the Evangelical Training College of Education at Amedzofe in the Volta Region, Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh, has said he welcomes the punitive measure meted against him by the Ministry of Education.
According to him, though he’s yet to receive any letter informing him of his suspension which he’s heard and read on the media, he’ll not contest the decision by his employers.
Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh has been slapped with a three-month suspension by the Ministry of Education.
During the period, he will also not be paid his monthly salary over what the Ministry of Education considers negligence on his part.
Rev. Tettey, per available information to this Kasapafmonline.com, was suspended for failing to take proper care of public property.
An EICHER bus with registration number GE 158 – 16 GH which was donated to the College less than a year was recently spotted carting firewood to the school premises for use by the pantry.
The act which attracted the attention of the Ministry of Education provoked a meeting between the sector Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Rev. Tettey on Friday, May 12, 2017.
He was summoned to give reasons why he should not be sanctioned for allowing the public property to used in that manner.
Speaking to Kasapa News, Rev. Sylvanus Tetteh stated that “I take my suspension in good faith, they are my employers and I’m representing them in the College. I had a challenge and I solved the problem on their behalf however they were not happy with the proceduce I used but I’m okay with their decision.”
He added that he’s still in charge of the college working effectively until he officially receives his suspension letter.
