##SOURCE : ADOMONLINE.COM -------- A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communicator, Kwame Baffoe, has called for the dissolution of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament. ‘Abronye DC’ as he is referred to speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday argued that the dissolution of the constitutionally created body is necessary because the committee has failed to live to its mandate. The Committee despite having the powers of a High Court, Abronye DC said has failed to convict persons who are implicated in the Auditor General’s report that appear before it. “The Public Accounts Committee must be dissolved, people appear before it and just fail to justify why the loot monies from the state coffers…instead of convicting them, they allow them to go scot free without arresting them…,” he argued. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) studies public audits, invite ministers, permanent secretaries or other ministry officials to the committee for questioning, and issue a report of their findings subsequent to a government budget audit. Several persons have appeared and confessed before the committee of misuse of public funds with some of them begging for forgiveness. Abronye DC commenting on the failure of the committee to order arrest of people therefore argued that the country will be better served if the PAC is dissolved and an alternative found to retrieving monies stolen from the state from public officials and politicians. “Why are they not arresting people, they should do so to serve as a deterrence to others because they have the powers of a high court…they only permit people to go and just defend themselves in a shallow manner…,” he said.

The problem with Ghanaians, especially Ghanaians with a political axe to grind, is that we like to talk. Talk even when we are not making sense. The author of the article is vapid. They would have us think that Rawlings must say something even when there is not much to comment on. The Akuffo Addo government, will mess up soon enough. Four months out of the gate, it is like a baby which is still in the crawling stage of life. Pound for pound, this Akuffo Addo government, is superior to its predecessor, even in its infancy stage.

Forgotten GYEDA, SADA, Brazil World Cup, Bus re-branding, GHC 20million NDC Headquaters, AMERI, Burkina Golden Wall, Presidential Ford 'Gift', House & Car for Akua Donkor, Woyome and all those exposed by Citizen Vigilante Amidu etc., etc... ? Every government makes mistakes along the way but how it addresses the mistakes is what shows leadership. Rawlings had his own mistakes and it was the same with Kuffour, Mills and JDM so shall we leave Rawlings alone, please. Let the real Ghanaians judge Akuffo Addo when he is, at least, half way through his tenure.

Mr Rawlings is NOT the same person we saw in 1978, 1981, or even 2008 when prof Mills was elected president. the man has lost his mojo. He cant speak against akufo Addo's government. Do you know the reason why? It is because of his wife Konadu who now calls the shots. Even when he was in power those who were close to him will tell you that he never took decisions that go contrary to what his wife wished. If Konadu says no that is it. Konadu is so bitter about how the NDC dumped her for prof. Mills, she cant see anything good about the NDC. Luckily for her the Kuffuor faction are not in the leadership of the NPP so she was able to work herself into the bossom of Akufo Addo, who at the time desperately needed her endorsement. Rawlings has been forced against his wishes to become an Akufo Addo supporter, and so will never find anything wrong with what the government is doing. I can assure everyone that even if Akufo Addo decides to get Rawlings prosecuted for wrongs done by him while in governemt, and there are many of them eg the murder of the judges etc, Rawlings will NOT criticise him. He will sheepishly surrender himself to be dealt with because Konadu says so. he is so afraid of Konadu it is unbelievable what has become of the once powerful revolution man.
