A young outspoken member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lord Hamah, brother of former Deputy Communications Minister under the Mahama administration, Victoria Hamah, has said the party became “a slavish whore to state power” under President John Mahama (JM).“Under JM, there was no collective governance,” Mr Hamah wrote in a tirade on his Facebook page.While calling for a total overhaul of the leadership of the NDC as a party, Mr Hamah said: "The NDC record in government is a scandal. “We need to accept that to move forward. For eight years, especially the last four years, we witnessed a kind of political incompetence unrivalled in Ghana's history.“Related to this was the intoxication that took over the heads of youthful government appointees.“Key power brokers who were fattening on the foliage of state life did not even have any idea on the location of the national party office, not to talk of their constituency offices!.”He continued: “The claim that the present NDC leadership is social democratic is not scientific. It is based on self-proclaimed righteousness backed by a deadly cocktail of incoherent pseudo revolutionary principles.“How could you come to terms with the fact that in 2016 JM stabbed the people of Ghana in the back by selling out ECG by a certificate of urgency in parliament ratifying the concession agreement with MiDA?“The entire leadership of the NDC needs to be wiped out. The December 2016 polls did part of the work in cleaning up the party, the rest should be done at an early Congress...”

##SOURCE : ADOMONLINE.COM -------- A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communicator, Kwame Baffoe, has called for the dissolution of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament. ‘Abronye DC’ as he is referred to speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday argued that the dissolution of the constitutionally created body is necessary because the committee has failed to live to its mandate. The Committee despite having the powers of a High Court, Abronye DC said has failed to convict persons who are implicated in the Auditor General’s report that appear before it. “The Public Accounts Committee must be dissolved, people appear before it and just fail to justify why the loot monies from the state coffers…instead of convicting them, they allow them to go scot free without arresting them…,” he argued. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) studies public audits, invite ministers, permanent secretaries or other ministry officials to the committee for questioning, and issue a report of their findings subsequent to a government budget audit. Several persons have appeared and confessed before the committee of misuse of public funds with some of them begging for forgiveness. Abronye DC commenting on the failure of the committee to order arrest of people therefore argued that the country will be better served if the PAC is dissolved and an alternative found to retrieving monies stolen from the state from public officials and politicians. “Why are they not arresting people, they should do so to serve as a deterrence to others because they have the powers of a high court…they only permit people to go and just defend themselves in a shallow manner…,” he said.

John Mahama is a great and nice person, but he made some grave mistakes that affected the party in a way. His mistake of thinking that he could neglect long-standing, hardworking and loyal NDC supporters to appoint some dubious and greedy self-centered persons into government and other positions will unite us, and thus bring progress to the country, is one of the reasons that led to apathy, and consequent loss of the party in the elections. The NPP is now showing the NDC how to do things by appointing only their own, even those with low IQs just because they are members of their party. The NDC made a lot of strategic and tactical mistakes because there were a lot of non-committed people who made their way into public and other positions based on patronage and friendship than anything. This Harruna Attah hypocrisy is a big lession for the party. I will advocate that the party, if it comes to power again, should give appointments to its members only, once they have the minimum qualification and/or aptitude to do the work. Afterall, listening to the newly appointed CEO of BOST on TV3 mid-day news, you could see that the man is clueless about the activities and happenings in the industry. He could hardly express himself properly in clear and coherent English, and yet the NPP appointed him to that position because of his association and loyalty to the party. That is the type of competency they have been talking about, and I hope the NDC will learn and take a cue from them. We should be ready to damn the press, people in academia, the clergy and all such hypocrites who have chosen to keep quiet on all the mediocrity and incompetence being exhibited by the NPP. Long live the NDC, long live Ghana.
