  Minority lacks understanding of issues. The sad thing however is the fact that they are not ready to READ! Rawlings left $6.6 billion and Kufour came to increase it to $8 billion. Agya Atta/Mahama moved it all the way to $28 billion SIGNIFICANTLY as a result of which Ghana is using about GHc 14 billion out of the total revenue of GHc 34 billion raised last year in debt service. The fiscal inflexibility is getting worse by day and the only way to reverse the trend is to undertake debt re-profiling. The single exercise in 3rd April 2017 fetched Ghana a whooping $612 million! Talking about the conflict of interest, Franklin Templeton took part in a similar exercise both in 2015 and 2016 when NDC was in power. In the 2015, a 20 year bond was issued at a rate of 24% and last year's November, a 10 year domestic bond was issued at a rate of 19%. The one in contention, the rate is 19.4% for both a 15 and 7 year bonds. What is the conflict of interest then? Did Templeton unfavorably gain? The issue of not giving domestic companies an opportunity to participate is rather mischievous! How many local companies participated in the previous exercise? NDC doen't love Ghana! The noise they are creating will discourage Templeton and others to participate in future domestic bond. This will obviously make things difficult for NPP which definitely will make the Ghanaians return them back to power! If politics ia all about this then God help Ghana.
