  ON TOP OF THIS PARTICULAR STORY IN WHICH MR SLY MENSAH FINDS HIS VOICE TO INSULT THE GOVT IS ANOTHER STORY REVEALING HOW THE NHIS HE HEADED UNDER THE NDC HAS MISMANAGED THE HEALTH INSURANCE SECTOR AND IT IS NOW ON THE BRINK OF COLLAPSE. ISN'T THIS IRONIC? THAT SOMEBODY WHO HAS WASTED AND MISMANAGED THE NHIS FUNDS SHOULD BE CRITICIZING THIS GOVT AT THIS POINT IN TIME. THE NDC IS TRULY 20 YEARS AWAY FROM POWER BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT YET REALIZED WHY PEOPLE KICKED THEM OUT.

  Not all Ghanaians will use the Accra Dubai facility but with free SHS, almost all Ghanaian children, within a certain age bracket, can have access to it. Look, whiles Ghanains were suffering, and Mahama even acknowledged it by always saying he understands their challenges, Tekper was busy putting heavy tax burdens on Ghanaians to the admiration of NDC members. The question is, how do you over-tax a person who is challenged. All across the globe, it is a good practice to give 15% tax exemption to people who are physically challenged to lessen their burdens and so I find it strange for Mahama to accept that Ghanaians, under his regime, were going through economic challenges yet found it convenient to over-burden them with taxes all with a view of using the revenue accrued for bus re-branding. Who on earth will understand this apart from NDC thieves. The fact is that NDC members are thieves and so needed more money to satisfy their insatiable greed.

  Sylvester is doing this because he wants to run for president. Below is his record while he was CEO of NHIA.
  
  1. Under Sylvester Mensah’s leadership, corruption was the order of the day. He and his closest pals at NHIA were arrested by the BNI. They were freed under NDC. Hope NPP resurrects these cases.
  
  2. Soon after Sly Mensah was chosen as CEO of NHIA, he sacked 8 out of 10 regional heads of NHIS and replaced them with NDC foot-soldiers with no health insurance background or experience. The two that were not replaced were Upper East and Upper West regional heads because both were NDC members.
  
  3. The NDC government introduced deputy CEOs. Sylvester Mensah made sure 2 out of 3 Deputy CEOs were Gas (people from Accra). The third is a well-known NDC cadre. None of the Akan technical people perceived to be NPP was elevated.
  
  4. 4 out of 5 senior Management team were Gas.
  
  5. Many district scheme officials perceived to be NPP or Akan were replaced with NDC cadres.
  
  6. Claims from the Volta Region were not vetted before claims were paid because the Volta Region is the stronghold of NDC. For over 4 years, this happened. However, the NDC sent capitation to Ashanti region against technical advice because Ashanti is NPP stronghold.
  
  7. Sylvester Mensah hired Gas, Ewes and Northerners at NHIA and throughout the NHIS system. Akans were sidelined or transferred.
  
  8. Award of foreign scholarship was based on NDC membership or having a relationship with senior management official or a top NDC member.
  
  9. How much money did Sylvester Mensah have before he came to NHIA? Today, he has a mansion built in 2 years, and enough money to run for president.

  Unfortunately Ghana has divided itself into NPP and NDC. We need a new strong social democratic party youthful, combined with some old and competent politicians to replace the present NDC. That party did too little to punish corrupt members. They allowed the destruction of our enviroment to go on and had no sensible plan for sanitation. All this nonsense about the 4. JUNE CELEBRATIONS must stop . It is sad to see social democrats being exposed as thieves in office,stealing from such an empoverished country like Ghana. The excuse that things were worse under Kuffuor is a silly arguement .Real social democrats never steal state property. That should have been the main topic for dicussion at that NDC meeting.
