SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

Yet, some fools are out there drawing comparison to the Montie 3 scenario. The 8 Delta Force members actually acted on their motives and stormed a court of competent jurisdiction to free suspects standing trial, whereas the Montie 3 only issued threats at the justices of the Supreme Court.

The two scenarios are stringently not the same, but some fools are still yapping on equalization.

This re the facts and whiles others cry the families of the accused persons re rejoicing and that's natural,for them justice is served and for the opposition it's injustice.look the sitting judge could've been used if she could identify her attackers by recusing herself and enter the witness box to testify,the state prosecutor is also saying that no identification parade was done on the suspects besides even they re rearrested the trial judge who now saw the faces of the accused persons has lost her right to identify her attackers because she now know their faces.Court of public opinion don't win cases in a court of competent juridition,ndc should read as Dr Bawumia advised them.

Besides, did the 8 themselves claim not to have been among those who committed the act?

This sudden withdrawal of the case only indicates a continuation of deliberate throwing of State cases with Political reverberations by corrupted State Prosecution Attorneys. The difficulty in identifying offenders by witnesses is among the package of tools the corrupted State Prosecution Officials use to set offenders free in such cases.

We have not forgotten the missing evidential documents that led to the abrogation of cases like the Murder of the Ya Na and about 40 members of his family, and the Murder of the CPP leader in the Northern Region.

This is a sordid manifestation of the continued manipulation of our Judicial System by shady Government Attorneys in Ghana. It is interesting to note that the most conspicuous politically charged cases that go that way happen to be touched in one way or another by Officials with some sympathies to the Akufo-Addo faction of NPP.

I hope that trend does not continue or it would be a principal cause for tainting Akufo-Addo's Presidency. His past performance as an Attorney-General offers much to suspect that his Administration would never be straight with the Public in cases like this. So, he could do his reputation and legacy a great deal of good to oversee a clean Judicial record while being the President.
