SOURCE: CLASSFMONLINE ------ The Government of Ghana is reviewing the debts incurred by the John Mahama administration to find out whether the loans were used for the purposes of which they were contracted, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo, has revealed. After the review of the debt situation, the findings will be made public to enable the Ghanaian people realise how their moneys were spent by the previous administration, Mr Marfo added. It is recalled that during the electioneering season the then main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) accused the Mahama government of excessive borrowing but with little to show for, an assertion the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) rubbished because they thought they had embarked on several infrastructural projects with those loans. Mr Marfo speaking during the National Policy Summit on Tuesday May 16 said revealed that the new government is investigating all the debts left behind by Mr Mahama. “We are working on the numbers, the ministry of finance gives us the bulk numbers. But they do not all emanate from one source, we have some sitting in energy, some sitting in SSNIT and we are examining all. As a government and we are doing it gradually and slowly because we must be accurate. “We want to be sure that whatever comes out finally is accurate. The government owes it as a duty to keep the nation informed about these debts and what it was used for.”

Why is it that Northerners always want the Government to do everything for them? The resources from Southern Ghana is already being used to provide free education for northerners and a lot of government money is being spent to keep the peace in the conflict-ridden north of the country. On top of all this, is the government, using the resources from Southern Ghana, going to build palaces for Northern chiefs?
This request is shameful and portrays northerners are hopeless people who always want the government to do everything for them. Stop this laziness Mr. Northern Chief and organize your people to build this palace.

This So-called opinion leader, Mohammed Hudu at Bole should note that once elections are over, whoever is elected by Ghanaians to lead the country becomes responsible to all Ghanaians irrespective of your tribe and or religion .On the basis of that therefore, Yagbonwura cannot and should not be blamed for appealing to HE the Vice President Dr, Ahaji Mahamadu Bawumia for 'anything' as far as he was not making the appeal personal, so to speak, being 'SELFISH'.Does Hudu mean Gonjas must and should always make appeals of any sort to ONLY politicians who are Gonjas? It was used to "dare" President Addo for attempting to create Eastern corridor region insted of Gonja Region, condemn the Yagbonwura n Gonja Traditional Council for an allerged plan visit to Flagstaff house to congratulate Prez Akuffo Addo on his election victory, used as a conduit to rubbish Abu Jinapor, deputy presidential staffer, for donating musical instruments to a group in Damango, it was also used to attack govt functionaries for asking Ibrahim Mahama to pay its workers SSNIT arrears and many other reports of attacks on head of institutions in Bole for not appointing indigenes to their organizations when it is evident that eg education, agric NCCE, etc directors can not employ people even if your IMF conditionalities were not in force.
The sad aspect is that the news is either carried as Gonjas or Bole people say this or that and subject the area or people to public condemnation.Mahama Haruna should stop hiding behind people and made his opinions direct to the media always.

I have taken my time to read all the comments and have realised that those who insulted Northerners in their comments are either short sighted, short memories or not sincere in their submission.

When the hypocritical Christian clergy out of envy of the muslim mosque built in Accra along the Kanda high, the basis of which Nana Ado cut sod for National CATHEDRAL Using muslim tax payers money, where were these people condemning the northerners. You should also note that the mosque built was a donation from a muslim country.
Anyway how different is the request for place different from building a national CATHEDRAL.
I believe that our just God will not accept any prayer in that CATHEDRAL because taxe payers of different faiths had cheated to build it.
