This one man show of " stop galamsey", or illegal Manning within the shortest time frame (2-3 months) doesn't make any sense at all. Such activities have been in existence long before J.A Kuffour's time. And to bring that to a halt, a consensus of the general public, whose water bodies and forest reserves were under threat; and the beneficiaries of those activities needed to be engaged. A proper time frame to cease all operations, refill of the degraded site, and removal of equipment from all affected areas? must be discussed thoroughly. This way, there will not be any victimization from any quarters. It is appearing to me that those with proper authorization to operate have all been sacrificed. And result is what is being witnessed in Akim Abekoase. This is not politics as usual but a good case with wrong approach.
