The reconciliation process should start with identifying and ostracizing criminal mercenaries who infiltrated the party like a destructive malignant tumor.I expect any speech related to the incoming june 4th celebration to severely and unequivocally condemn the massive rot under the Mahama Administration to drum home the message that the NDC as a Social Democratic Party has its antecedence in the Revolutionary working principles of probity,accountability and integrity.NDC loyalists and True Cadres all over in particular should declare an unremitting WAR against infiltrators who have an ulterior motive of destroying the party for their vested parochial interest.We are not oblivious of the fact that JDM in particularly through clandestine machinations have reduced the NDC into a corruption hop,effectively paralyzing party structures and killing the grassroots and its command.The creeping indiscipline and anarchy informed by chronic leadership failure resulted in the superego of multitudes of ministers,government and party functionaries who posed as worshiping demagogues as tentatively described by a colleague Minister in the Mahama regime.I have bemoaned the point before that nobody understood the motive of JDM and bunch of criminal cohorts who hijacked the party and took the rest of us who have loyally served the NDC with underground campaigns and sponsorship as true children of the PNDC Revolution.I was in primary 4 in Bolgatanga Preparatory School when i was already under the ambit of the Youth Council as part of the Boyz Scout Brigade of the CDR.I saw the passion with which the likes of Martin Amidu,John Ndebugre,Bishop Akolgo and various militia commanders under the CDR tackled corrupt elements in society other than the military discipline,integrity,industry,patriotism and nationalism the revolution preached and inculcated in the youth at the time.Though one readily admits few excesses with the revolution,it made corruption and graft a dreaded venture.This brings to fore the debate about the usefulness and essence of multi-party democracy which western imperialists have used as a coercive tool to topple good socialists leaders like Thomas Sankara(Burkina Faso) and Col.Gaddaffi(Libya)and our own legendary great Dr.Nkrumah committed to the development of their respective countries with nationalistic passion.It makes nonsense of the essence of democracy when open organized crimes with impunity allow diversion of millions if not billions of cedis from state coffers into the pockets of greedy,self centered people right under the watch of corrupt leadership who should protect the public purse in the interest of the vulnerable and poor.It is sickening to see leaders who have publicly declared themselves as socialist without the political will and commitment in government to deal drastically with corruption but rather appears to be conniving and condoning in it as personal beneficiaries.I never would have imagined that the scale of corruption unearthed with more being exposed and the copious quantum of cash being stolen and stashed away in public institutions under Mahama regime will ever had happen in a social democratic party like the NDC with a revolution antecedence whose basis was corruption.It is a proof for those of us well versed with happenings of the PNDC revolution ingrained in us right from childhood days that many in Africa join political parties not because they believe in party objectives and ideology but because of what they stand to gain.An unfortunate catastrophy becomes inevitable when they find themselves in leadership position such as the presidency because they are not in anyway committed to the course of the party.They develop virulent and deadly antics that poison party's ideology and mentality of loyal party functionaries to have control and power for their selfish and unwholesome benefit.You only have to listen to invectives, vituperation and destructive criticism of the Founder by unrepentant appendages of JDM who were ecstatic about the open corruption they helped institutionalized under him and have so much benefited from to come to that conclusion.Greed,factionalism,favoritism and discrimination combined encouraged and fueled by JDM himself in an attempt to upstage Rawlings,render him redundant together with his loyal disciples to have total control was Mahama's bane.Any reasonable political analyst will attest to the fact that it is unscientific and indeed a major political suicide to demystify or deny the huge and commanding influence of Rawlings.Rawlings is the people's man with massive following beyond Ghana including Countries like Burkina Fasso and Nigeria where he is very popular and very much liked.It is only JDM and his cohorts with combined selective myopia and amnesia who never saw that because he rightly criticized his regime for corruption that negated the party's popularity and appeal.
