The soldier was an armed robber in disguise. What was the soldier doing at that place at that particular time? Shouldn't that be the work of the police? Only in Ghana would a soldier take the law into his own hands by going into a neighborhood carrying a gun, believing that residents would be docile. If anything, the soldier caused his own death. I hope the people of the town will mobilize and fight the soldiers.

From what I am deducing from the cause of death of Capt Maxwell Mahama, it appears GAF is not offering high quality training to their officers. The reasons being that: 1) How can an officer loss his bearing in his command area. It does not make sense to me since the first thing he should have done was to study the terrain carefully with the help of his adjutants to the extent of knowing the adjoining villages and towns and the main and auxilliary routes. 2) Since Dankyira area is not a war zone, the first port of call should have been to the chief's palace and then familiarization with members of the community. If this had been done, at least, someone among the mob would have identified him. 3) He being new in the area, he should have embarked on the jogging with his adjutant because the mere deployment of the military to that zone to guide a civilian facility should have informed the young captain that there is a potential security risk in the area.

First of all, what is the size and importance of this town to deserve a military officer attachment there? The Assemblyman of this small town is a kinda notable pêrsonality there and should have known this soldier on a mission there. The Captain was said to have quizzed a woman for a direction and I am wondering how big the town is to be lost. Did he tell this woman who he was ? How long did it take the mob to be mobilized between the time the Assemblyman was alerted and the time they caught sight of him to lynch him.How come not a single person amongst the mob could recognize him as the military personnel on attachment in this relatively small town who under normal circumstances know each other even if it's a stranger? Did someone ever think that Armed-robbers normally are in numbers and that only one person who even had the audacity to ask for a direction from a woman and left thereafter before the woman could alert the Assemblyman.
Something is missing out there.Anyway, the military have no problem with a case which is a police one and going there to intimidate innocent citizens is not the right one. All the youth in the small town did not take part in lynching the poor soldiert so going to arrest, and maybe kill some of them would be a bad precedent. We are in a democratic state.Think about it .

If my uncle had not quickly pack the car and call me to also call an elder who prevented them from those atrocity,they could have kill him. All those who were physically involved and the on-lookers should be dealt with the same way they treated the harmless and innocent captain. Their generations to the 4th level must pay for it. I wish the military troop be allowed to handle this issue the way they wish without the intervention of the senior officers. Meanwhile, I can promise the townsfolk that they have drawn a battle line between themselves and some other tribes. They shd be prepared for it. They've got it coming. It's not over until it's over. This idiocy should be scrapped off our motherland.
