MANY NDC FUNCTIONARIES OWN GALAMSEY OPERATIONS. AISHA HUANG BOASTED OF HER CONTACTS IN HIGH PLACES. 3- WHY SHOULD THE ARMY BE GUARDING PRIVATE MINERS WHEN IT COULDN'T PROVIDE SECURITY FOR TRANSPORT SERVICE PROVIDERS AND PASSENGERS PLYING THE NORTHERN ROUTE? 5- WHO INITIATED THE WATCHMAN CONTRACT BETWEEN 5BN AND C&J ALASKA MINING COMPANY? Hon Ymain is right. Sophisticated equipment like Excavators are not permitted by law for small scale mining. Google for review of small scale mining law reportedly said by the CEO of Minerals Commission covered by citifmonline dated o4 March 2016. Also google for the Small Scale Gold law 1989(PNDC218) read section 5 and 21 and Section 77 of the and Mining 1986 (Act 153) you will get the spirit (the intents and purpose of the mining law, put up by the framers of the law. Act 703 of 2006 is just a compilation of PNDC218 and PNDC153 hence reason why the CEO is asking for the review of the small scale mining law.

PNDCL 218 AND 153 have all been repealed by Act 703 and Act 703 does not state anywhere the equipment that should be used by SAM. it's just the some think ssm should be using simple implements and not because it's law

Act 703 of 2006 was just a compilation of PNDC153 and PNDC218 These repealed laws are where you can find the spirit of the law. That is why the law stipulated the formation of District Small Scale Mining Committees (DSSMC) to see to education of the people to regularize their operations by acquiring mining rights or license and registering with them(DSSMC). Google for the meaning of small scale mining and galamsey and you will find that the are the mean same. Subsistence mining or poor man's activity for survival. Use of excavators should be under medium scale mining or Large Scale Mining. How do you call someone with over 30 excavators more than the total excavators belonging to all the Big or Large Mining Companies like Newmont, Anglogold Aashanti,Goldfields etc under the Chamber of Mines as a small scale miner. Such person should be classified under mega or large Scale Mining or at worst Medium Scale Mining
