PROF. ADEI FIRES SALVOS!!!!! COURTESY: CLASSFMONLINE.COM ----- The various corruption allegations surfacing are proof that the Mahama administration was far more corrupt than previously thought, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Prof Stephen Adei has said at a Business Roundtable organised by Yamson and Associates in Accra on Wednesday, 31 May. “Do you know why many people want to be politicians? It’s because that is the quickest way to get rich in this country,” Prof Adei said, adding: “We are yet to know the facts because we are not the investigators but the types of things that are being revealed about the amount of corruption [are mind-boggling].” National Communication Authority graft So far three appointees of former President John Mahama are being investigated by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly diverting some $4million belonging to the National Communications Authority (NCA). The three appointees, according to Information Minister Mustapha Hamid, conspired with a private citizen to commit the act. The former Mahama appointees being investigated, as named by Mr Hamid in an interview with Joy FM’s Kojo Yankson on Wednesday, 24 May, include Mr Eugene Baffoe-Bonney, former Board Chairman of the NCA; Mr William Tevie, former Chief Executive Officer of the NCA; and Alhaji Osman, former Deputy National Security Coordinator. Their conspirator, according to Mr Hamid is one George Oppong. Mr Hamid said they engaged in the graft in connection with a contract between the Mahama administration and an Israeli company, NSO Group Technology Limited, in which the latter was to supply eavesdropping gadgets worth $6 million. The equipment were meant to help the government of Ghana monitor the calls of suspected terrorists. In the course of the transaction, Mr Hamid said a local agent – Infraloks Development Limited – charged $2million as facilitation fee, bringing the total amount to $8million. According to Mr Hamid, National Security, which did not have the funds for the equipment, allowed the NCA, which supervises the use of such equipment, to fund the project. The NCA top officials, he revealed, withdrew $4 million from the NCA’s kitty but gave only $1million to the Israeli firm. The surplus, according to Mr Hamid, was deposited into the personal accounts of Mr George Oppong, who fronted as an agent of Infraloks Development Ltd. He said Alhaji Osman orchestrated the entire deal. According to Mr Hamid, demands by the Israeli firm to be paid the $5 million balance after the Mahama administration lost power in the December 2016 elections prompted the new Akufo-Addo government to probe the transaction after which the graft was detected. Mr Hamid said: “They took $4 million from NCA accounts and paid $1 million to the Israeli company and then deposited $3 million in the accounts of the local agent, one Mr George Oppong, and proceeded to share the $3million among themselves.”

These pseudo pastors are mentalist, hypnotists and self-aggrandizing charlatans who brand themselves as men of God. THIEVES!!!

Their modus operandi is this -- Why should smart guys go hungry when there are a lot of fools and ignorant people around. They prey on the ignorance of the masses. Religion is indeed opium for the masses. It sets the masses in a la la land of ecstacy.

The Bible from the old to the new testament is full of curses and lynching. Even Jesus would ask a mob who wanted to stone a woman to death for allegedly committing adultery the following: "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" John 8:7

Ghanaians act as if we are poverty stricken and money is the only solution, so we will therefore sell our birthright for a bowl of wheat. We are so much stomach led that we will front for a Chinese to destroy the soil that feed us and contaminate the water bodies that give us water to drink. The same Ghanaians would turn around and complain about high cost of foodstuff etc. after the irreparable damage has already been done. We are country full of liars and dishonest people which is why I ask Akufo Addo to take RUTHLESS action in his fight against GALAMSEY. What is the president waiting for? I said the same thing yesterday in my post as Otabil, using the word culture gives other connotations but reading quotes attributed to Otabil he is simply saying it is common in Ghana for suspected thieves and criminals to be killed or humiliated by mob action because we have a weak security system, people take the law in their own hands because the police don't arrive quickly when there is an incident and the court system is corrupt.
Otabil is talking about Ghana and not saying it doesn't happen elsewhere. Although I don't believe mob actions are common in the modern day US as lecturer says, because the police usually get there in time to arrest the perpetrators.

But if Otabil wants to tell us that it is the culture of where he comes from all well and good. He should not generalize it.

The many lynching we see around and hear of so frequently these days including this very recent one involving the life of the soldier is only a product of this 'Ghanaian attitude' Dr Otabil alluded to.

In all instances of lynching in the Bible there was a trial. It is not the same as what happens in our society.

I was nearly lynched with my friend 20 years ago by a young man who claimed he has lost his money, and since we were close to him in busy kumasi central market, then we are the main suspect.we were nearly lynched if not because of the favour of God and the market women who cme to our aid of saying they know the pick pockets operatin in market. we were taking to central police station. Now we are in our late 30s and both of us are doing well in society, myself being Pharmacist and my friend a top manager in one of the top security firms in the world. our lives would have been wasted away with this barbaric bob lynching. In Ghana, the poor have no one to speak for them. the numerous poor lives who were lynched years ago or every day in Ghana have no voice. Now someone we deem important has been lynched , then everyone is crying. we have to act now as it is clear is not only the poor who get lynched.

Biblical lynching is rather cultural and not Ghanaian lynching. Ghanaians are rather acting out of frustration and disappointment with the criminal justice system. So both Otabil and the lecturer should revise their notes.

just recently in south Africa from 2007 till date there has about three major xenophobic attacks n lynching in that country... some policemen had attacked n killed blacks in the US without any or little provocation.... so to put it esimply it's indeed universal in nature....in the Arab world this type of mob justice is quite common in respect of those breaking the sharia law....and its even more common place in nigeria, where i believe we picked that habit. It is all about a culture of togetherness - 'them against us' syndrome.......and Mensah, that happens anywhere in this world.

So, please spare me all this talk about 'Ghanaian culture' business.

However, we do not need a lecturer to disagree with Mensah, before we all make sense or nonsense of his assertions......IT IS ALL ABOUT COMMON SENSE!!!!

I have always said this and will continue to say it.......the two USELESS parties in NDC and NPP are to be blamed for everything evil, happening in our country today.

The level of lawlessness and disorder is unbelievable. When you politicize law and order in any society, what then prevails is mob justice.

When you allow hoodlums who insult and physically attack our judiciary without any punishment, mob justice prevails.

Same as when you allow corruption and thieves with 'pens' rob our nation of its taxpayers money and justice is not seen to be done, mob justice prevails.....

All we continue to hear is that we have a president who believes in law and order and yet, under his watch our society is getting from bad to worse. When will he effect law and order to secure our nation??? The talking is over, do something now!!!

NDC and NPP have nothing to offer GHANAIANS so GHANAIANS should stop voting for them, PERIOD!!!

Apart from that, the GHANAIAN hospitality only extends to foreigners not to our own so.

What did the police officers do to bring those perpetrators of such heinous crimes to book? The stupid slogan is" funu di f)" and that the case should die its natural death. And nothing is heard about it again. On the other hand when a suspected armed robber a thief is killed by mob in a community what happens? Nobody is apprehended in the area to verify whether it was an innocent person who was killed and to arrest those who violated the law and killed the person. Lynching happened rampantly in world history in all tribal dwellings. Most of our tribal and world wars has their roots from lynching. This attitudes is gradually dwindling through the need to do business etc.

I think Otabil's comments were misunderstood. He's talking of disrespect of law and order as being manifest in Ghanaian culture and the central cause of evil acts such as lynching. Yes he's right. Even if the victim was an armed robber, he should have been killed after being subdued to inaction. The barbaric killing and continued stoning of the lifeless body tells a lot about the partiparticipants; more than wicked, and even some of those there are likely robbers of all sorts.
