COURTESY: CLASSFMONLINE.COM ----- The various corruption allegations surfacing are proof that the Mahama administration was far more corrupt than previously thought, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Prof Stephen Adei has said at a Business Roundtable organised by Yamson and Associates in Accra on Wednesday, 31 May. “Do you know why many people want to be politicians? It’s because that is the quickest way to get rich in this country,” Prof Adei said, adding: “We are yet to know the facts because we are not the investigators but the types of things that are being revealed about the amount of corruption [are mind-boggling].” National Communication Authority graft So far three appointees of former President John Mahama are being investigated by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly diverting some $4million belonging to the National Communications Authority (NCA). The three appointees, according to Information Minister Mustapha Hamid, conspired with a private citizen to commit the act. The former Mahama appointees being investigated, as named by Mr Hamid in an interview with Joy FM’s Kojo Yankson on Wednesday, 24 May, include Mr Eugene Baffoe-Bonney, former Board Chairman of the NCA; Mr William Tevie, former Chief Executive Officer of the NCA; and Alhaji Osman, former Deputy National Security Coordinator. Their conspirator, according to Mr Hamid is one George Oppong. Mr Hamid said they engaged in the graft in connection with a contract between the Mahama administration and an Israeli company, NSO Group Technology Limited, in which the latter was to supply eavesdropping gadgets worth $6 million. The equipment were meant to help the government of Ghana monitor the calls of suspected terrorists. In the course of the transaction, Mr Hamid said a local agent – Infraloks Development Limited – charged $2million as facilitation fee, bringing the total amount to $8million. According to Mr Hamid, National Security, which did not have the funds for the equipment, allowed the NCA, which supervises the use of such equipment, to fund the project. The NCA top officials, he revealed, withdrew $4 million from the NCA’s kitty but gave only $1million to the Israeli firm. The surplus, according to Mr Hamid, was deposited into the personal accounts of Mr George Oppong, who fronted as an agent of Infraloks Development Ltd. He said Alhaji Osman orchestrated the entire deal. According to Mr Hamid, demands by the Israeli firm to be paid the $5 million balance after the Mahama administration lost power in the December 2016 elections prompted the new Akufo-Addo government to probe the transaction after which the graft was detected. Mr Hamid said: “They took $4 million from NCA accounts and paid $1 million to the Israeli company and then deposited $3 million in the accounts of the local agent, one Mr George Oppong, and proceeded to share the $3million among themselves.”

Anybody knows you hear the name Mahama and you know some sophisticated fishy business or crime is being committed using various institutions as their camouflage cover . You listen to the various videos and you may even hear the gunshots of the captain shooting at the people but no where was he shouting as required to identify himself. Because the people are Fantis or Akans its easier to blame them instead of finding out the truth. The story doesnt add up , anyone who has taken the time to travel around most pats of the Central region will observe even in the middle of the night even white girls , tourists Europeans and other foreigners walking alone or roaming around unaccompanied and nothing ever happens to them . But then again every once in a while we hear of some white-man being killed because of some gold deal. Lynching is wrong but this has elements of self defense and over reactions to it, remember he fired his gun at the people before with courage they disarmed him . It would have been better if they had handed him over to the police but we all know he would have paid a bribe and those who had apprehended him would have been languishing in jail . There can be no peace without the assurance of justice. On this forum we notice all the lying hypocrites who have come out to condemn the town but fail to notice the crimes committed like corruption , nepotism , incompetence etc. A sin is a sin and a crime a crime , why turn a blind eye to corruption and yet talk shit about one lynch. Police stations are being burned to the ground and now most security agency personnel are scared and shitting in their pants because soon the people will arise. Npp , Ndc and most of the media are in a hype propaganda mode to blame the innocent people of the town rather than properly look at the suspicious activities of the captain . First he was jogging alone with a gun in plain sight . Rather than identify himself chose to engage in shooting at the residents , a sign of substandard training or criminal intent . He was on duty and an officer but had no other lower ranking soldiers accompanying him , was he deployed there to be on holiday so could go jogging around ? Never trust these security forces especially the army as they are involved in all kinds of criminal activity and always have sophisticated propaganda lies to make it appear they did nothing wrong. A wise man once said its stupidity to know the truth but chose to believe the lie.

The rush to sack the DCE is wrong,the man took office few weeks ago and may not know that changes ve been made,besides the military did not make any announcement to the public that they ve replaced soldiers at various galamsey areas,few weeks ago Mr Peter Amewu has a confrontation with some soldiers and made allegations that some military men were protecting illegal mines to defy his orders for all mining companies to stop work.So the DCE without any briefings of any changes and seeing soldiers at his districts could assume that the old order still stands,though I do not support his comments,at best he should've been reprimanded and made to apologize in person to the family of the late captain Adam mahama.Mind you The DCE was not appointed in the vacuum,he might ve worked very hard in the campaign to deserve his appointment,do you know how this action ll affect the Npp?he also has family and following and the rush to sack him is very wrong.Mr Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako voice carries a lot of wait and a call from him for his sack can never go unforfilled,he's my biggest fun for years but for this one I think he acted on his emotions,he should always wait till we all express our small minds before he comes with his big mind to help the president do the right thing.I read that former president Mahama has pledged to take care of the late soldier,s children,something I find very hypocritical because his government contributed largely to the galamsey problem Ghana is facing today,he say all the reports regarding the destruction of our forest and river bodies whiles in office,yet he did nothing,minister and government official in his administration took part in galamsey,we all heard Joseph Yamin,Kwaku Baako also told as how big men in this country was exchanging sex with Chinese lady's for galamsey to flourish.Look the NDC has set a big trap for the npp and unfortunately we re failing to realize that.John mahama traveled on the helicopter to this areas to campaign and had a better Airtel views of the destruction galamsey was causing but chose to attack the then candidate now president of sleeping when he raised concerns about the nature of our bad roads.So how can we allow those who spearheaded galamsey and put Ghana through all this problems pretend to love Ghana just because Ghanaians ve rejected them?the npp can not weaken our party just because the NDC says so,I wept when I say the video of the murdered soldier,it's so painful,I stand by his family and my deepest condolences to them including his wife.The president must be very careful in taking decisions to fire party loyalists is a situation like this,we all remember the tweaa DCE and Kojo Twum Boafo when he attacked and insulted the moderator of the Presbyterian church,we also remember when Oko Vanderpoye when he renamed the national hokey pitch to Prof.Mills the former president took him to go and apologize and that settled it,when it happened people called for their heads but the NDC and former president mahama who's seeking equity today with all his hands in blood and the npp is falling for this bate,we must get serious for once.Polititians in this country we re told re the best of friends across the political devide,yet they mislead their supporters on air and Tv and that has always contributed to the animosity and hatred at the grassroots levels.I think the media commission and the police IGP must make sure our airwaves is free from insults and unsubstantiated allegations,if a person make a statement or lie on radio and tv they should be invited to provide information or be punish so they can be responsible,if we don't stop this nonsense ghana ll never move forward.Four years is not much,we re already 6 months into the year and our president must be selfish to develop this country,he shouldn't wast time visiting French peaking countries and promising to make French compulsory in Ghana,their colonial masters ll never let go of them,Kwame Nkrumah made this same mistakes with his big dreams for Africa and this is where we find ourselves,Tanzania has showed us the way including Rwanda so why can't our president approach nations that can help him develop Ghana?besides he told us Ghana is not poor during his campaign so he should stay home and do reforms to stop corruption and galamsey,we re hungry and the honey moon Npp is enjoying is fast depleting......
