According to the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, Capt. Maxwell Adam Mahama and the military detachment at Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region were not there to protect illegal miners. The Chief of Defence Staff has insisted the soldiers were officially assigned to the area. He emphasised that their presence in the area was “sanctioned” by the military high command with the knowledge of the defence ministry. The CDS fell short of telling Ghanaians what exactly soldiers in Denkyira Oboasi are doing but credible evidence on the ground shows the soldiers are in Denkyira Oboasi guarding a Chinese Mining Company plying their nefarious mining activity in a prohibited forest reserve. My investigations across the country indicate that, GAF personnel active support to illegal mining activity in Ghana is still prevalent. Currently, GAF personnel are still actively guarding Chinese Galamseyers in a prohibited Forest around Kolgo area in the Upper East Region.
So, from what the CDS is saying, it means the military high command sanctioned the protection of illegal miners in a prohibited forest reserve and, once the military has sanctioned such activity, it makes the whole galamsey operation in the forest reserve legal. My goodness, what a stupid CDS. This can only happen in Ghana where university graduates are useless. I suspect the CDS is a university graduate. That is why he is that stupid. Anyway, are Ghanaian soldiers trained to guard Chinese mines in Ghana.

Anybody knows you hear the name Mahama and you know some sophisticated fishy business or crime is being committed using various institutions as their camouflage cover . You listen to the various videos and you may even hear the gunshots of the captain shooting at the people but no where was he shouting as required to identify himself. Because the people are Akans its easier to blame them instead of finding out the truth. The story doesnt add up , anyone who has taken the time to travel around most pats of the Central region will observe even in the middle of the night even white girls , tourists Europeans and other foreigners walking alone or roaming around unaccompanied and nothing ever happens to them . But then again every once in a while we hear of some white-man being killed because of some gold deal. Lynching is wrong but this has elements of self defense and over reactions to it, remember he fired his gun at the people before with courage they disarmed him . It would have been better if they had handed him over to the police but we all know he would have paid a bribe and those who had apprehended him would have been languishing in jail . There can be no peace without the assurance of justice. On this forum we notice all the lying hypocrites who have come out to condemn the town but fail to notice the crimes committed like corruption , nepotism , incompetence etc. A sin is a sin and a crime a crime , why turn a blind eye to corruption and yet talk shit about one lynch. Police stations are being burned to the ground and now most security agency personnel are scared and shitting in their pants because soon the people will arise. Npp , Ndc and most of the media are in a hype propaganda mode to blame the innocent people of the town rather than properly look at the suspicious activities of the captain . First he was jogging alone with a gun in plain sight . Rather than identify himself chose to engage in shooting at the residents , a sign of substandard training or criminal intent . He was on duty and an officer but had no other lower ranking soldiers accompanying him , was he deployed there to be on holiday so could go jogging around ? Never trust these security forces especially the army as they are involved in all kinds of criminal activity and always have sophisticated propaganda lies to make it appear they did nothing wrong. A wise man once said its stupidity to know the truth but chose to believe the lie.

You see what happened could have otherwise happen to a native of the community and this time round the perpetrators of the act would have been a mistaken identity by the military on the native some one would have died. I still stand by my assertion that the military has been taken over overtly or covertly by a bunch of crooks in this country who are 'riding' on the shoulders of the military to enrich themselves. CHRAJ SUMMONS REJECTED KONONGO MCE NOMINEE, GEORGE KYEI BAFFOUR OVER CORRUPTION CHARGES

The Commisson for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), has summoned the rejected MCE nominee for Asante Akim Central, Konongo over charges of corruption, conflict of interest and abuse of public office during his tenure as a Presiding Member of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly.

The Commission is investigating how he used his position as Presiding Member to influence the award of Assembly contracts to his numerous companies without regard to provisions in the Local Government Act and the Standing Orders of the Assembly. What is worrying is that, although he personally executes these contracts, he uses actors to front for his companies in official correspondence with the Assembly to hide his interest and uses his position as Presiding Member to influence the award of contracts to these entities. One of the companies is registered in the name of his wife and the letterheads for official correspondence bears the telephone number of his wife.

It is important to note that, Hon Kyei Baffour as the Presiding Member for past Assemblies of the municipal, never declared his personal, pecuniary or any other interest to the Assembly in any contract given to these enterprises as stipulated in the Local Government Act [section 9(d)] and as enshrined in [section 55(1 & 2)]. This practice has continued for a long time.

It is not by accident that on Friday 12th May, 2017, the Assembly rejected his nomination outright, especially when the 36-member Assembly has 33 NPP and only 3 NDC members.

Between 2011 and 2013, Hon. Kyei Baffour was rejected for seventeen (17) consecutive times, when he contested as Presiding Member by the same Assembly and for over two (2) years the Assembly had no Presiding Member.

Also, in 2015, during the last District Assembly elections, Hon. George Kyei Baffour contested for re-election as assembly man in for the Konongo Ahenbronum electoral area and lost to Hon Kwasi Opoku. The same happened in 2006, when he lost to Hon. Ken Opoku Asiedu.

On 17th May, 2017, during an interview with OK FM, he accused the Chiefs of the area and staff of the district assembly of masterminding his rejection as the MCE. He alleged that staff of the district assembly were engrossed in corrupt practices at the Assembly and they know he is the only person who can stomp corruption from the Assembly. In that same interview, he also accused Assembly members for voting against him because he didn’t pay bribe.

It is ironic and preposterous to think that, someone who is being investigated by CHRAJ for his corrupt dealings with the same Assembly, would want the world to believe that he can curtail corruption. Besides, considering his derogatory comments about the Chiefs of the municipality and the staff of the municipal assembly, it is difficult, if not impossible, to fathom how he can cooperate with the chiefs and the staff of the assembly, should he have been confirmed.
