  While I absolutely don't condone or accept lynching or mob action in its whatever form or colour, the very reason people resort to this uncivilized approach to justice is that the law enforcement agencies particularly the police has failed woefully to deal decisively and objectively with criminals when they are arrested. They take bribes from criminals and release them.I remember in 1999, I lived in the NTHC estates in Lashibi Tema. One day when I went to work, thieves broke into my House and made away with a lot of my belongings but by God's grace, someone saw them and raised an alarm, they were chased and one of them was apprehended and sent to the Tema police station. To cut the long story short, the CID personnel handling the case came to my house on several occasions demanding bribe if I want the thief to go to jail after prosecution since his(the thief) relatives want to pay for his release. He went on to say that they are paid very low and they had to purchase their own clothes for their job so he needs money in order to complete his investigations???? Yes you heard me right! I told him flatly that this case is not between me and the thief but between the thief and the State so if he wants to release the criminal to go scot free he can do so,perhaps one day that same thief will come and steal all his belongings. After that I travelled to Canada for a long time and never followed the case again.

  You are right. Having being the status of the victim, who is a captain in the Ghana Army and also a relative of former president no one would have cared about it. It is a sad incident but our governments should know that every life is important.
  There have been some instances where big people instigate violence for their selfish gains.
  This "instant justice" has been happening everyday since the 1980s where solders brutalized women and the weak with impunity. The corrupt justice system and interference in the judiciary have contributed to what we are witnessing now. It is time to overhaul the justice system and education of the public .
  Politicians must Stop the blame game because you are a greater part of the problem.
