PROF. ADEI FIRES SALVOS!!!!! COURTESY: CLASSFMONLINE.COM ----- The various corruption allegations surfacing are proof that the Mahama administration was far more corrupt than previously thought, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Prof Stephen Adei has said at a Business Roundtable organised by Yamson and Associates in Accra on Wednesday, 31 May. “Do you know why many people want to be politicians? It’s because that is the quickest way to get rich in this country,” Prof Adei said, adding: “We are yet to know the facts because we are not the investigators but the types of things that are being revealed about the amount of corruption [are mind-boggling].” ---- So far three appointees of former President John Mahama are being investigated by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for allegedly diverting some $4million belonging to the National Communications Authority (NCA). The three appointees, according to Information Minister Mustapha Hamid, conspired with a private citizen to commit the act. The former Mahama appointees being investigated, as named by Mr Hamid in an interview with Joy FM’s Kojo Yankson on Wednesday, 24 May, include Mr Eugene Baffoe-Bonney, former Board Chairman of the NCA; Mr William Tevie, former Chief Executive Officer of the NCA; and Alhaji Osman, former Deputy National Security Coordinator. Their conspirator, according to Mr Hamid is one George Oppong. Mr Hamid said they engaged in the graft in connection with a contract between the Mahama administration and an Israeli company, NSO Group Technology Limited, in which the latter was to supply eavesdropping gadgets worth $6 million. The equipment were meant to help the government of Ghana monitor the calls of suspected terrorists. In the course of the transaction, Mr Hamid said a local agent – Infraloks Development Limited – charged $2million as facilitation fee, bringing the total amount to $8million. According to Mr Hamid, National Security, which did not have the funds for the equipment, allowed the NCA, which supervises the use of such equipment, to fund the project. The NCA top officials, he revealed, withdrew $4 million from the NCA’s kitty but gave only $1million to the Israeli firm. The surplus, according to Mr Hamid, was deposited into the personal accounts of Mr George Oppong, who fronted as an agent of Infraloks Development Ltd. He said Alhaji Osman orchestrated the entire deal. According to Mr Hamid, demands by the Israeli firm to be paid the $5 million balance after the Mahama administration lost power in the December 2016 elections prompted the new Akufo-Addo government to probe the transaction after which the graft was detected. Mr Hamid said: “They took $4 million from NCA accounts and paid $1 million to the Israeli company and then deposited $3 million in the accounts of the local agent, one Mr George Oppong, and proceeded to share the $3million among themselves.”

Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. He thought he had finally eliminated and replaced the great JJ Rawlings. Hmmmm . A profile of the usual suspects? The hard wired perceptions of NDC being a party of northerners ,Ewes and Dangbe with renegade fantis; thrown for measure , and the NPP being a party of Akans is exposed with the line up and is worrying. Hopefully we will see new unblemished faces as the orgy of narcissistic self congratulations and invisibility goes on throughout the year. The exposed character of NDC we see in the mirror is a very , very scary entity based on its blood spilling past and very corrupt present ! The future of NDC? It's past and current behaviors of inhumanity under the pretense ( smoking mirrors) of probity and accountability and corruption colored social infrastructure build up do not assure Ghanaians much hope!
Ghana needs a third political force where content of character,competence and common humanity will determine political leadership and party affiliations. And where inclusive transformational policies can coalesce and bring citizens together and where affiliations are not driven by the ugly tribal hegemonic agitations dressed up as a political party? Our youth must unmask the current duopoly of NDC and NPP in our political dispensation and start developing an alternative political forces. We need a real movement to come to systematically cleanse the decadence of the current tribal based platforms and where the winner takes all situations make sections feel marginalized when one of our duopolies in governance is replaced. ? The struggle of NDC party leaders to accept 2016 defeat and become a positive opposition rather gives a false hope to its party supporters that they will return to power after 2020.
No citizen must be encouraged to believe or harbor the dependency mindset that only their party can give them an advantage or opportunities for self improvement? That self development and success can happen under any political party. Individual motivation and industry is the core factor for life's success. That governance is about creating the enabling environment for able individuals to succeed irrespective of which party is in power. Citizens must be discouraged from thinking that political access to the people's " Purse" - i.e., Ghana Government Incorporated is the only source of building ones wealth.
