Tried to identify himself but did not succeed so short at them and one person ended up with a bullet in his leg . This is a shoddy investigation meant to cover the truth that he was there to cut a deal with criminals and they thought it was cheaper for them to kill him. We all know that town is a stronghold of NDC for decades so they not know who he was or not have their links to the army is bullshit . Anybody knows you hear the name Mahama and you know some sophisticated fishy business or crime is being committed using various institutions as their camouflage cover . You listen to the various videos and you may even hear the gunshots of the captain shooting at the people but no where was he shouting as required to identify himself. Because the people are Akans its easier to blame them instead of finding out the truth. The story doesnt add up , anyone who has taken the time to travel around most pats of the Central region will observe even in the middle of the night even white girls , tourists Europeans and other foreigners walking alone or roaming around unaccompanied and nothing ever happens to them . But then again every once in a while we hear of some white-man being killed because of some gold deal. Lynching is wrong but this has elements of self defense and over reactions to it, remember he fired his gun at the people before with courage they disarmed him . It would have been better if they had handed him over to the police but we all know he would have paid a bribe and those who had apprehended him would have been languishing in jail . There can be no peace without the assurance of justice. On this forum we notice all the lying hypocrites who have come out to condemn the town but fail to notice the crimes committed like corruption , nepotism , incompetence etc. A sin is a sin and a crime a crime , why turn a blind eye to corruption and yet talk shit about one lynch. Police stations are being burned to the ground and now most security agency personnel are scared and shitting in their pants because soon the people will arise. Npp , Ndc and most of the media are in a hype propaganda mode to blame the innocent people of the town rather than properly look at the suspicious activities of the captain . First he was jogging alone with a gun in plain sight . Rather than identify himself chose to engage in shooting at the residents , a sign of substandard training or criminal intent . He was on duty and an officer but had no other lower ranking soldiers accompanying him , was he deployed there to be on holiday so could go jogging around ? Never trust these security forces especially the army as they are involved in all kinds of criminal activity and always have sophisticated propaganda lies to make it appear they did nothing wrong. A wise man once said its stupidity to know the truth but chose to believe the lie.

The woman made a phone call to the Assemblyman. You can get her identity from the Assemblyman who has been arrested. The phone is definitely registered. She can be tracked.

Mob action is a big problem in Ghana. It has gradually grown to this uncontrollable stage because the police are not up to their task, and the police are not up to their task because past governments have failed to resource them and ensure that they do their work well. We should all make the present government aware how important it is to resource the police and make sure they perform their duties with integrity so that people will have confidence in them and report cases to them instead of taking the law into their hands to deliver instant justice.
Mob action is prevalent especially in our cities and the rate at which people can attack and beat up or kill a victim is alarming. I have personally saved two people from being lynched on two different occasions, one at Adum in Kumasi, and the other at Moshie Zongo. On both occasions I realized that people just join the crowd to attack the victim even without knowing the offense he had committed. On one occasion the victim owed some amount of money and it seems he had been playing hide and seek with his creditor, who had been searching for this guy for a long time. Then on that fateful day he chanced upon him at Adum, but the one who owed some money foolishly started running away. The money lender then shouted after him, “thief! thief” and that that was it. The guy was lucky that I went to the scene and had the courage to stop the crowd and asked for the reason from the two of them why he was being beaten. This guy was saved but not until he had received some serious beating. And no one in the crowd even knew he just owed some money.
There must be a law against this canker in our society and more people should be educated to know how wrong it is to subject people to instance justice.

I can't see what you can charge the with, she saw a man with a gun, became alarmed and reported it to someone in authority like many simple country woman will do. It was up to the assemblyman to behave like a responsible person in authority.

Captain Maxwell Mahama died a gruesome, horrific,uncivilised death at the hands of people who do not know how to properly use their brains and every education of our people on the sanctity of life should be mounted by the state and other public/private organisations like the schools, churches, chiefs,parents, community leaders etc. However, there must be a thorough investigative journalistic piece on that mining activity in the township and the vested interests flushed out for all of us to know. The minister of mines after his tour of Ashanti region indicated that some of the illegal mining sites were being protected by soldiers from our armed forces without any written down protocol from his ministry. His remark was rebuked by the deputy defence minster who said no soldiers were protecting illegal galamsayers. There is something very fishy going on here and if not looked into, the young soldier who was sent into an area by his superiors to do work supposedly on behalf of mother Ghana, would have died in vain. It looks like the armed forces of Ghana are being used to protect private mining interests. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT MINING IS GOING ON IN FOREST RESERVES AND THEY ARE DEGRADING THE ECOSYSTEM - rivers, and streams included.
