Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. He himself signed the Political Parties Act barring foreigners from funding political parties in Ghana. After the 31st Dec coup he also caused the arrest and trial of Nana Okutwe? Bekoe and Krobo Adusei for receiving a loan from an Italian investor Chaivelli on behalf of the PNP. We have come full circle with Rawlings inadvertently admitting he tòo was a conduit for foreign financing of his political pet project the NDC. He even once tried to implicate then opposition candidate Kufuor in such a scheme as a pretext to have him arrested.

Is Rawlings ready to appear before CHRAJ investigators on political financing since he is a champion of probity and accountability

I am stunned by this news from the former President's own mouth! First off, wasn't it illegal in Ghana to accept Campaign funding donations from foreign sources?

If it wasn't, then our leaders, including Rawlings, always left a window open for waves of corruption to flow in for them to ride on. If it were, on the other hand, then Rawlings was culpable for failing to dissuade any such donations, and even playing an enabling role to facilitate their giving. This is a classic situation where the former President cannot win either way. Only a child or a really aloof adult who never cared about our Nation's politics would believe any of our Heads of State beyond the First Republic was incorruptible. I once thought J. J. to be the most likely candidate for that. But now, he confessed his own ineligibility for that. And that breaks my heart, underlying the fact that none of our Heads of State could be honestly untainted by corruption.

What a hoax of an anti-corruption campaign J. J. led, then! No wonder his students, as Asiedu Nketiah put it, became full-fledged corrupt political operators, surpassing even Rawlings' own wildest nightmares, as a result of which he called them 'Babies with sharp teeth'.

Ghana has endured too much hypocritical posturing and lies by our Political leaders who have always preached godly virtues to us, only to turn around and sleep with the devil to the ultimate detriment of the Nation and its larger population.

Where is Abacha's 'Gift' of $5 Million, Mr. Rawlings? I think it would be most upright of you to give it all back to the State. After all, you could live on the interest that would accumulate on that sum since you deposited it into your accounts.

How on Earth could you dare demonize some others for even taking a meager Gratuity of $100,000 for an imposed retirement, but have the balls to secretly accept $5 Million 'Gift' from a well-known fellow corrupt Military Leader of another country?

Where is your moral backbone that you stiffened up to call all of us to order, probity and accountability on a similar day of commemorative date, June 4th, 1979?

We are tired of Political leaders who always take us for fools and ignoramuses to use our votes to launch their campaigns to amass personal wealth.

I can hardly set you, Mr. Rawlings, apart from the rotten bunch, now that you've revealed so much of your own culpability for the wrongs you incited us all to stand against the others for.

You owe us all and those you led to kill for corruption a hefty load of apologies. Find the guts to render those apologies. And the least you could do to atone for your incrimination is giving back the monies that you know should not have gone to you and belong to the State.
