I wonder if there is any country in the world where soldiers are sent to protect illegal mining, except Ghana under the NDC government. Kwaku Boahen was heavily involved in illegal mining in the Amansie west, and he has the effrontery to attack Nana Addo for stopping illegal mining in the country. NDC supporters killed Capt. Maxwell Mahama at Denkyira Obuasi.
Oh, how I wished to have led a military detachment to that village after Capt. Mahama's death. The villagers would learn a very bitter lesson of their lives.
The military should abrogate all contractual agreements with mining companies, and confine the soldiers to their core responsibilities.
The mining companies must rely on their own mine security details, and the law courts mandated to impose heavy custodial sentences on illegal mining in the country.
