The slogan was then eradicate corruption, bribery etc. He murdered Col Acheampong , Akuffo Addo Amedume and many more under that slogan. Today he wants Ghanaians to believe that his party was created to to live up the fundamental principles of June 4th.I will leave readers to make this judgement. Rawlings and his wife must also under that discipline they inflicted on others don't you think. Evil pair. June 4th was a year Ghana went down hill in history. I personally have some problems with some behaviours and attitude of Rawlings, but that does not take away anything from the relevance of June 4. I have come to understand that, like all of us, Rawlings is a human being, and as such is not faultless. June 4 was a necessary event that occurred at the time it did, so I believe that anyone condemning the event must be doing so out of sheer ignorance and hatred. Do those people know what was happening in the country then? I shudder to think what would have happened in Ghana without June 4 at the time it happened. Let all the haters and ignoramuses know that it was not just about Rawlings then; it had national appeal and support, with some of the hypocrites condemning the event today among those calling for the blood to flow. The call for more blood and total housecleaning came from students, academia, workers and all segments of the society; So the hypocrisy must stop. June 4 was a watershed in our history, and even though it might have consumed innocent souls, it was a necessary event that redirected our country from the brink of chaos and disaster at the time. If after the event we, out of our own greed and cronysm allowed some of the ills to crop back, that should not be a reason to condemn June 4. Without June 4, Ghana would have been torn apart by conflict, and we would have been worse than we are today. Yes, there were excesses, but that was bound to happen in such an explosion of anger by almost the entire citizenry at the time. Let Nana Ofori Owusu, Kabila and the rest of them give us a break!!!

Even after that regime, see how Ghana is steadily growing into corruption, dishonesty, thievery, etc? If you don't know facts don't just condemn his acts. Some things pushed him and others to do just what was necessary to save Ghana.
Even you who now condemns Rawlings, if those corrections weren't made may be your parents wouldn't have had the resources to look after you so well till you grow nicely as now, and intelligent enough to discern and criticise. You better give thanks to Rawlings. Find out what was happening. What we see and call in today's Ghana as corruption and control is no where near what was happening then.
