According to Major(Rtd) Boakye Gyan, per military training and practice, military officers do not walk alone when away on national assignment, hence he found the circumstances surrounding the murder as unacceptable. He Said: “That was not how we were trained, it was not part of our training that you alone go on a jog. So my question is: ‘what was his mission there?’ If you are in a military detachment and you are going jogging, you don’t go with a sidekick?” “The report coming so far is that the Captain was on early morning jogging without a sidekick or without a number two attached to him? Now the man is dead so who came and told us that he was exercising? Whose story is that? The practice is that you should be accompanied by somebody else. It doesn’t happen that a Captain alone will be going jogging, that is not part of our training. Ask anybody, in those days when we are going jogging we would move in a group, so my question is, ‘what was his mission there (village)?’ “If you are a detachment commander and you are going on early morning exercise, you don’t go with your sidekick, at least one person with you? You do not walk into an operational area alone, so where was his sidekick? I find something wrong unless the information is to cover up. A senior Captain finding himself in a situation where he is not accompanied by anybody from his detachment, it is not done. Now he is dead and we know dead men don’t talk, but who reported that he was exercising? We need to question that person.”

My friends and I have been saying the same thing. How can a platoon Commander walk along whiles on a mission? Knowing the mission is not a friendly in the environment they are. Things don't add up.

I believe the evil people do these days surprises the Devil himself; he should be afraid of people in this electronic world, their mind is fully filled with kill and pretend otherwise. Did we not see corruption at Rawlings' time? Someone who used to eat Gari and beans on credit bases, his wife is now owing a state property-our factory at Nsawam. Now he talks against corruption, Wonders will never end.

Why are Ghanaian splitting hairs over the murder of Capt Mahama and yet, turn blind eyes on injustices perpetrated against other Ghanaians who have equally been victims of mob justice. So far, the only Ghanaian who has issued sensible statements about this canker is Mr Sam Okudzeto. All other statements are just bogus, especially, the ones made by the CDS and Dr Apaak. As much as Rawlings cannot claim to be the heavenly spiffy-clean leader he once presented himself to be, he did not sow the seed of corruption that has lately virtually consumed the NDC, and persists in the Nation in general.

How about the 'Kalabule' that brought Rawlings and his cohorts to the Political arena in the first place, even if we do not like what he did in an attempt to stop it?

It is most disingenuous of Kennedy Agyapong to fail to concede the very beginnings of the rampaging corruption that set the Nation on the path to this much economic disarray and deep financial inequality between the ruling elites and the masses.

What could be more correct of the Rawlings effect is the condition of "if you can't beat them, you join them". When Rawlings, probably, saw that the People were poised to return to deep corruption at any cost, and he could not use the Military to change anything anymore, he possibly then decided to cut his losses, or should I say, cash in on his gains to butt out.

In other words, Rawlings had noticed corruption could not be eradicated with his approach that served to halt the evil behavior momentarily. So, with the Immunity Clause in our Constitution ratified, he found a protective wall to stand by to scoop his booty, too. But that cut down his moral fortitude to as low as any of his targets for his own moral assault.

The subsequent Administrations from Kufuor through Mahama did not do much to curb the behavior, either. And the corrupt operatives had a field day to keep escalating the looting to a point in the Mahama Administration where he, J.J., was even shocked by the height of their malfeasance to call them 'Babies with sharp teeth' who had no scruples left to constrain themselves from stealing from us.

Ken, himself, was around and also part of the Administration that re-branded our Democracy to a 'Property-owning' one, as if our existing Democracy had barred owning property. That mantra was either a stupid tautological rendition of our Democracy or a cynical hyper-emphasis on how recklessly and pervasively the Officials were going to allow corruption to prevail under the guise of that pseudo-capitalist mantra.
