  Flooding was rare in Kumasi in the days gone by. Something must be seriously wrong if flooding is now a problem in the city.
  
  We should deal with the problem now and NADMO must stay true to their word.

  Kwabena, you are 100% right. Flooding in Kumasi was very rare occurrence before the '90's. The problem now is the corruption and bribery by the Chiefs, Lands Dept., Town Planning and the KMA. The Water and Sewage as well as the Electricity Corporation are also culpable.
  The chiefs, with their dwindling land stock will sell any piece of land.The planning authorities will gang up with the chiefs and re-zone the site giving it legitimacy.
  Finally, the City Engineer whose office is to monitor and control all structural development does not do his job because his office is deep neck in corruption and incompetency.
  Gone are the days when the sight of building inspector to a development site was taken seriously. What is happening now is that when money changes hands even "stop work" warnings mean nothing.

  Every year, floods. "We would demolish structures on water ways".The floods recede, nothing is done. The cycle goes on and on for several years and still the same old story. Are we a serious nation at all?

  Workers of TOWN planning in the various districts etc shd be sacked al over the ctry. They ain't working. They jux take bribe and allow ppl to build anywhere. The routine check up that needs to be done regularly to stop pple ...

The routine check up that needs to be done regularly to stop pple building in waterways etc r not dne any longer. They go the the office tlk abt football, politics, gossips etc n close for the day. #Ghana is doomed!
