Rawlings is embittered and ashamed because his govt was the only in the history of Ghana that members including his wife were prosecuted for corruption. In fact, his wife was only pardoned by kufour because she was an Ashanti Royal. This is what is paining Rawlings because he needed counterparts so that he could comfort himself with, that after all others were prosecuted for corruption. He hated Attah Mills because he did not prosecute kufour appointees. Just as Mahama did not. He was lobbying Nana Addo to prosecute Mills and Mahama appointees and has not gotten his way yet. He must know that no matter what he does, he cannot be president again. He also wants his wife to take over the party and so he is calling for elections. He will not succeed.

There is nothing you can gain from than asking him to join NPP or NDP. The most interesting thing is Rawlings keeps on disturbing our tympanic membranes about accountability, probity and all that jazz. Nobody understands what he is saying. Great men put pen to paper like Osagyefo, Mandela, Mrs Thatcher, Woodrow Wilson, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan etc.. This will leave a mark for their followers and children unborn when they are gone.
