  I agree that maintenance is important but Chinese are known to sell substandard goods to Developing countries. What China sells to Developing countries are not the same that would be sold to UK, France, Canada or USA. These Western countries set their standards for what they need to be manufactured for them. Why don't we buy from the Western World. You know that some of the furniture imported for parliamentarians in Ghana started breaking up on the second day? Anloga carpenters could have made stronger and better furniture than what our politicians imported from China because of kickbacks.

Now the Yankees are comimg, how are we going to pay for the electricity consumed by these huge public buildings which rely heavily on electricity from the grid?

  Maintenance is one thing but all required breakdown spare parts cannot be expected to kept in stock. Most countries you can get it couriered overnight or within few days. Welcome to Ghana where even urgent spare parts required by industry even if flown in or by courier it can take over 10 days to clear from the airport because of all the Ghana customs processes and checks and inspections and bureaucracy. Welcome to the frustration of what manufacturers go through in Ghana. Politicians have no clue how to make thinks efficient for everyone. They think the only important thing is to collect tax no matter how useless the process and how problematic and frustrating it can be. Run an industry in Ghana and you will feel like commiting suicide. Every single civil servant thinks he is doing you a favour by doing work he is supposed to do. Everybody should sweat in the new court building. Why did you expect anything different when the system is still the same.

  It's the lack of this simple, but a required mindset, that's the bane behind the
  " wash away nation " as eloquently enunciated a thousand moons ago by one of your seasoned journalists- Cameroon Duodu.
  
  Look at all the infrastructure in the country, e.g roads, because of the lack of maintenance schedule they all falling apart before your very eyes.
  Why do you think in the years past there was a Gov't agency called PWD?
  
  For those on this platform who have real properties, when was the last time you had an upgrade?
  Granted you may not have The Home Depots, Loews, etc in the Stateside but for Akonode's sake create one !
  So, all these problems are thusly self- inflicted.
  The cause could possibly be part cultural or old fashion ignorance 'cos just like any physical structure- our bodies being good examples - if it's not maintained they will break down.
  
  No physical structure maintains itself.
  Do a religious upgrades on your roads, A/C's, roofings , pipes, etc and the breakdowns would be a thing of the past and would be of no consequences, and it's mention would of course be " fake news."

Except whatever the bunch of buffoons of NDC had to do with them concerning their shady streaks, nothing can explain this insanity. The chinese are scavengers so if we are looking for modernity laced with lasting technology, go to the west, or korea and japan. This madness with China should stop.
