SO LET THE POLICE HELP COMMUNITIES IN MAPPING OUT STRATEGIES TO HELP CHECK BUGLARY AND OTHER CRIMES IN THE REGION.

THAT STEP IS NECESSARY TO AVOID CITIZENS FROM TAKING THE LAW INTO THEIR OWN HANDS.

The lawlessness and low profile of nationalism in Ghana was created by the police force. The officer has no stand to shift their duty unto the civilians. If he is not prepared to work seriously, better for him to quit--find your way back home.

What is the meaning of this advice? Do we have to arm ourselves with guns, sticks, bottles etc? Or we do not have to move about freely? Or we do not have to go to sleep? The prime duty of the police is to provide security to the society by maintaining law and order. When the police fails to do this either through corruption or neglect, the people surely takes over this duty and the result is the mayhem we have in the country now : lynching of the innocents and the guilty, armed robbery, road accidents, overspeeding on our roads, corruption in offices etc.

For this nonsense of taking personal security serious, I will not lock my door and gate when I sleep. I expect the Police to patrol well well so I can sleep in peace.

When I leave the bank, I will also count my money openly so that thieves will watch and follow me, and I expect the Police to be around to defend me. Employ more policemen and I don't need personal security.

A useful contribution from a professional will be to provide practical advise: get a dog, lock your gates, etc. More importantly, give the police numbers to call in an emergency!
