How much taxes do diasporanians pay to support government effort. Ghanaians want everything free even if they pay no tax. Decisions have to be relevant to conditions on the ground.

I'm very suspecious of the posture of Ghana web of late, what is going on here? Is the writer here operating in his sound mind? The reality is that people like me tried the best- we can to keep quiet -as to what was the real cause of Major Mahama's death, to avoid escalating the pain of the grieving family. I'm amazed at the way Ghana web preemptively unleashed this dog under a the human name of Andrew Krow to ambush the conscience of the Ghanaian people this morning. Ghana web should apologize to the Ghanaian people for this apparent pay to write kind of nonsense. John Mahama's participation at funeral of the late Major Mahama was triggered by his guilty conscience. Why? John Mahama's administration should solely be blamed for the death of his nephew- and this is as obvious as a " BILL BOARD IN THE MIDDLE OF NEW YORK'S TIMES SQUARE". Not only that- the difference between someone who uses their family member for a ritual sacrifice for money - and what John Mahama did is not as quite obvious. The reason being that: not only did the Mahama' s administration unleashed his contingent of foreigners, notably the Chinese; Ukrainians and Russians to destroy our environments and water bodies, but himself and some of his family members connived, fronted and peddled the mining equipment to these foreigners. And we are all aware of the obvious exposes that emanated of their apparent tax evasion and the consequences. So let me without any fear point to you (readers) that John Mahama is the backbone of the tragic and the unprecedented painful death that befell this handsome, educated, God fearing, courageous and martyr of our time John Maxwell Mahama.

There r too many problems in the country that we need to tackle first before thinking of Ghanaians outside voting. Our streets r filthy n stinking. Children r giving birth to children on the streets. Ghettos n slums r springing up all over the place. No proper housing for the people, education is shit, lawlessness erywhere, health care is shamefully shambolic, corruption is institutionalized, the list is endless, n ure talking of some Ghanaian in some godforsaken country voting! Countries which don't have embassies do we also pay for the airticket? What stops them coming to Ghana motherland to see hear feel what is going on before voting on a sensitive issue which will primarily affect we still leaving here. Do they have social security other countries have their citizens contributing, do they pay income tax to help the govt arrange this from funds those staying in Ghana have been taxed from? Do they ever buy anything in Ghana whilst outside that incur VAT? Is it not discriminatory for those who have to fly to the embassy in Houston or Washington to register and vote. Do they also request from the host country to observe and celebrate Ghanaian holidays? Will residents there be the electoral officers or fly locals from Ghana? Why should they Vote to influence the election and make us live under a govt which doesn't help the masses out of their plights whilst they continue to leave in a country where the laws are obeyed upheld and justifiable applied irrespective of who you are and enjoy good governance. Why should they leave in a country where galamsey does not destroy their drinking water and farmlands and make us hungry and also fight for us because people turn a blind eye? Sending western union is nothing we also send a % of our little earnings which has been taxed to family members. Nobody is stopping those outside to join the process come down and vote. If you want to register go to the embassy as the law requires for you to indicate your presence in a foreign land to the embassy and get your card, but come to hell to vote to send us all to HEAVEN!!!!

Oh, so they want to elect our leaders for us so that should the going gets tough they go back and sit in their comfort zone, abroad, and watch proceedings eh. How much tax do they pay to the nation in a year? If they still want to vote, then they must bear all the financial commitment involved. As for those who have been sent abroad in the name of the nation, must be made to exercise their civic rights through the ballot as the constitution stipulates. If you go abroad on your own, then you are part of those who would bear the financial commitment before you vote.
