Jerry John Rawlings has stated that greed among some party members led to their loss in the 2016 general elections. He claimed corruption increased to insane levels under John Mahama and accused them of departing from the values of probity and accountability which formed the basis under which the party was formed. According to him, it was mainly because of the corruption that the NDC lost power to the governing New Patriotic Party.

Nana Akufo-Addo whiles in Germany took $100,000,000.00 grant from the German government and when the same person is telling Africans not to depend on handouts from European (former colonial masters) it means that Nana is just a cynic or does not understand the word dependence.
