Jerry John Rawlings has stated that greed among some party members led to their loss in the 2016 general elections. He claimed corruption increased to insane levels under John Mahama and accused them of departing from the values of probity and accountability which formed the basis under which the party was formed. According to him, it was mainly because of the corruption that the NDC lost power to the governing New Patriotic Party.

I blame the stupid opposition NDC who would not call for a probe into the hacking of the Electoral Commission's website or database where figures were altered!.Discerning Ghanaians know that!

Often media can be bought, in minor cases by giving "transportation money" T&T and in bigger cases high amounts to smear peoples image or influence legal cases.
