From what we are hearing the resistance is by a LARGE group that is why the police has been unable to stop them. President appointing a a DCE is a detactirship practice and i expect the so caled lecturer to know this wisdom

well the so called lecturer as u call him has a PhD which u may never get in your life. where from the view that the resistance is by a large group? its only a tiny minority of indisciplined youth who are paid by the losers to foment trouble. the assembly has a 64 membership. out of this 50 voted for the woman and 14 voted against. that means she got an over whelming endorsement of 78.13%. the 14 assemblymen who represent 21.87% are those causing the trouble. get yourself some education

If there are no human beings in savelugu who will the DCE preside over in the district? Trees or stones or animals? The people have the right to choose who they want to lead them. That's why I support the election of DCEs ins ...

If there are no human beings in savelugu who will the DCE preside over in the district? Trees or stones or animals? The people have the right to choose who they want to lead them. That's why I support the election of DCEs instead of this kind of appointment. Most of these DCEs have not stayed in these districts but only work their way through to become heads of these districts. I know of one DCE who never lived in the district after so many years. He only came as DCE and after his tenure and amassing wealth just disappear.
I suggest that a law be promulgated to bare people from becoming DCEs/MPs if they have not lived in the district or constituency in the past 5 years. That is the only way they can appreciate the developmental challenges confronting their people. Making them more accountable to the people than what is usually seen.

Agree with lecturer that impunity should stop. If we kowtow to the ravings of erring mob, it sends wrong signal. But the youth should be wary of such erratic behavior.
