SOURCE: MYNEWSGH.COM ------ The much awaited report by the Kwesi Botchway committee has disclosed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a weak intellectual and research base indicating that this played a key role in the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections. According to the committee, the NDC needs to take steps to crowd the party with critical thinkers in order to make the NDC a better party.

Even in 2009, after two rounds, NDC only got 50.2 and after all the rigging in 2012, Mahama also got only 50.7. Compare this to Kufour victory of 53.4 and Nana Addo 53.4. That speaks volumn of NPP: NDC will never win elections anymore now that the voters register ic cleaner than ever. Mark my word

Madam Minister, the defeat of the NDC at the last elections should not give you cause to gloat. Governance is a very difficult and tricky business. Four years is not so long. Before you realise, time is up and you would have to account for your stewardship of national affairs to the now highly discerning Ghanaian .
If I were you, I would be humble in victory and work conscientiously to deliver my mandate.
Already there are many areas the government can be faulted, especially in local government. The numerous appointees at this level do not seem to know what they are about.
For example, the stretch of the N1 Highway, between Ojobi Junction and Mallam Junction reveal total abandonment of responsibility of the chief executives.
Illegally placed kiosks and structures have been hapzardadly erected along the reserve of land abutting the highway. At Buduburam, they form a sinister canopy and pedestrians are compelled to walk on the Highway. The thousands of slum dwellers in the abandoned Liberian Camp do not pay for the water and electricity they use for domestic and commercial purposes.
At Buduburam, Kasoa and Oblogo, noisy music beyond human tolerance from illegally operating bars and improvised clubs, dominate our day's and nights. The damage to our health and the distraction to educational instruction and learning are beyond comprehension.
The highly expensive overpass built by the previous regime which was damaged at the Kasoa end two months ago remains unrepaired. Traders and commercial drivers have taken over the Highway. Legitimate users suffer great hardship as a result.
The Toll Booths have still not been automated, contrary to the loud promises of the incumbent administration. A big crater a few metres from the Toll point and the constant avalanche of sand and gravel, regularly block the Highway after rains.
The fishermen have resumed fishing on the lake with impunity. There is no check on the fishing methods they have adopted.
The land buffer protecting the dam is being encroached upon. Mechanical workshops, block moulders and car dealers are clearing the protecting trees and vigorously entrenching themselves on the land.
Just before the West Hills mall, a contractor without means has scooped and dumped earth on the road.
At the very junction to Oblogo, a giant four months old pool has formed from the gully left in the middle of the road after excavation by a contractor.This is the situation which daily confronts the Municipal Chief Executive as he drives in and out of his office.Of course he is at peace with the taxi rank formed at the fuel station and the numerous kiosks perilously placed close to the road to the extent that pedestrians walk on the road at great peril. It is certain the MCE finds it acceptable that the gutters are so choked with sand and weeds to the extent that the newly built road is fast detoriating.
Honourable, these are just a few of the concerns citizens who voted for the ruling party. Their expectation is that massive cage would attend your administration. Are you on course or it is auto - pilot as usual?
