  Many along the Volta river are engaged in this activities but not caught by the police because they get a cut in the business.

  I do not know what negative effects it would have, if we harvest sand from our big rivers in the country. Winning sand on lands usually farms lands, have not helped us. It is therefore left for us to win sand from permissible ...

  I do not know what negative effects it would have, if we harvest sand from our big rivers in the country. Winning sand on lands usually farms lands, have not helped us. It is therefore left for us to win sand from permissible rivers sites so as to save the degradation which has affected farm lands. The Korle lagoon, the part near the southern end, is one such place to win sand in the Greater Accra Region. What about the Densu river at Nsawam? There are big rivers all over the country, we only need to do something different, if the past has not helped us in a way.
