  Let us be creative for once, ebeeii. The reality is that oil prices will remain low for some time to come.
  
  So instead of asking hidebound officialdom to seek "expert advice on hedging" why do we not simply vertically integrate the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), I ask?
  
  By merging the GNPC with the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) - whose private shareholders should be bought out incidentally to avoid legal tussles - will we not create a west African energy behemoth selling TOR's refined petroleum products in GOIL-branded petrol filling stations across west Africa, with BOST tank farms storing some of those refined products across the sub-region?
  
  That way, no matter how low crude oil prices get, we will always have sufficient dividends from the stellar profits of the GNPC because of its profitable downstream subsidiaries - and get enough money to pay for free SHS education for struggling families' wards. Haaba!

  The same holds for the multinational mining companies ripping us off through tax evasion and avoidance.
