  I supported this current minister of Agriculture 1, because he is a cocoa Farmer and 2, because he said a lot of things that we thought could change the fortunes of our cocoa Farmers I have spent so much of what I made in USA into cocoa farming but looking at how things are going from fertilizer to increase in producer price , I am beginning to say I doubt if we the cocoa farmers have future.
  People in my village can't raise 80gh to buy the fertilizer therefore it means they won't gain from their cocoa production.
  The current hybrid of cocoa we are currently doing doesn't do well without fertilizer.
  Has the minister forgotten his sweet words he gave us.?
  In my area, you send cocoa to sell and the Clark says there's no money. Why are we playing politics with cocoa that carry the nation on its head. MR PRESIDENT, SHINE YOUR EYES.

This is what you want ohk, go to Ivory Coast if you will witness this shit there. Everything ghana man want subsidy or free. How can the nation grow if we continue to milk the country. This was what NDC did to enrich themselves during last Cocoa season and it was pathetic. Am also a farmer and I support the scrapping-off of the free fertilizer. Akuffo-Addo will surely succeed in bringing smiles to the Cocoa Farmers.

The reason the free fertilizer programme was ended was becos ppl took them and smuggled them to sell in neighboring countries to sell cheaper. Ghana can't be subsidizing fertilizer for Ivorian farmers. Hence the reason its being sold at the same price in neighboring countries to discourage smuggling. It's better to pay the farmer better so they can afford the fertilizer rather than give them for free which they don't even get becos it is smuggled out. Another suggestion is to spray the farms for the farmers. In the case of the stabilization fund. Didn't the NDC just leave government? The spokes person can start by telling us how much they left in the fund. NDC in opposition is very useless, they are not contributing to the growth of the country, they are just obstructionist

  You talk about better price may I know if you heard about better price from this current government. Was the same minister not who was making so much noise that past government was cheating cocoa Farmers?
  If we have stabilisation fund,why won't you increase cocoa price for we the farmers?I was happy when they made this man minister of Agriculture but am loosing it for him.
  Look at the time that they brought seeds to farmers to plant when others are harvesting already.
  Am not a member of any party but has invested in farming .
  When you send your cocoa out to sell, the Clarks say no money and you complain when people are smuggling?
